warren suggested a friday 3/27 hike and hunt in the burned lands. i am very much down for that!

i almost stepped on a rattlesnake today so we do need to be careful... but then again, it's been around two years since i have seen one there aside from today so it probably isn't *that* big of risk... just be super careful were you step!

because the burned lands are a site featured in Locale Color i will PM directions to those who are going to go

hope to see you there!

i invited a local herp & invert petstore employee to come with us. i probably should have asked his name. nice guy and helped me make a tentative ID on the rattlesnake i almost stepped on (southern pacific). dude has to work but he was really interested in the scorpion i caught up there that i brought to show off

speaking of scorpions.... who's up for some blacklighting?  the one little hiccup with blacklighting is that the street that we park on for day hunting is no parking 9p-5a

and... i'm down for a whole long day of looking around... so what time are ppl thinking of?

Hey thats enough of this sh!t.  Except for a few really old people and/or those that had severally compromised immune systems ..no one has ever died while hanging with me.

Yes, theres that one...but that was a group decision..well, more Andrews decision with the group following orders.  That guy was a fink ...and heck, after a few years...not ONE person ANYWHERE has raised a stink regarding his whereabouts. Obviously no one liked the guy..the worlds probably a better place without him.  Nevertheless, I dont want to be blamed for that one even in part. My vote was to leave him out in the desert alive and everyone that was present that evening knows it.  The way I figured it, we should let the stomach wound and Dharma decide his fate.
Anyway... I hate dwelling on that part of that trip. It was (IMHO) THE best scabies excursion and I dont wanna muck up all those great memories with this petty bloody murder stuff again.. subjects been beaten to a guilty pulp ..the past is the past so lets get over it and move on.   Wink

i would really like to document as many species  as possible for our expedition... but i have some special requests

i would like to make a vid about potato bugs... and i think a neat shot would be to collect all the pots we find on the hunt and then get them all on the same rock or in the same rock socket at the same time. there are apparently at least three dif species and probably more3 than that in the BL. after we get the shot i want we would disperse them around the area in reasonably secure places

also i found evidence of fairly large roaches (a super fragile drained husk that indicated a roach WELL in excess of 1" to me) that i would like to find living examples of

and of course... the mygs.... Very Happy  if the super mini Hexurella rupicola *is* present i would desperately love to find it!  i have some ideas for how to er, process the areas it is likely to be found in.... i think with a sort of work gang approach we can relatively fine tooth comb areas of interest

Those WOULD be the gems of the dayz catch no doubt.
Im sooo getting interested in roaches ...it would be great if we could finally get a few once and for all and get a colony going. ...haha, course, the specie you mention are probably totally loners though.    Wink

Alright sweet!  I just realized today that my Diff Eq exam is on Thursday.  I thought it was on Tuesday!  I might be able to make this one after all.  It'd better be worth the trip!  At least gas is still cheap.  Plus this might be the last time I see Andrew.  I may not be able to make it to the party.  Ok, I've convinced myself.  I'll be there!  I'd like to check out the Lorquin Society meeting too while I'm up there.
