I recently procured a desert hairy. I have Warren to thank for that at the last meeting. Its not fully matured and is only about 2.5" long. I was told when I got it, and I read, you should only feed them once a week. Because she's not fully matured should I feed her a little more than once a week?

And I have to say that watching them kill their meal is pretty cool. If I had a stinger I would sting my hamburger before I consumed it.

Just offer her more (like every other day or every three days).  If she isn't hungry (or if she's getting ready to molt), she won't eat it.

Hello All,
Tony, you are as funny as your aunt Celeste.

just offer food and she will eat it or not.

You will get to know your scorpion more this way than reading too much on them.

As long as the basic care is meet, you should be fine, and then you can start to experiment with it.

good luck.

francisco

PD Don't worry, you won't kill your scorpion.

Thank you all for the replies. I've been keeping her fed every few days. She still seems a little small. She is also pretty fat. Celeste and I are anticipating her popping out some offspring but we are not certain. She doesn't seem to be fully mature. I will get a pic of her next time she wonders out. But she is doing okay. Thanks again and we'll keep in touch.

Tony Bologna
