sooty longwing (Capnobotes sp.)

these are a semi preacious species. you often find them eating road kill. if you put any other bugs in with them, they usually eat them.

Sweet.  Nice to know.  I found her in the middle of the road when I stopped to catch a shovel-nosed snake.

This thing has jaws of steel and won't hesitate to take a chunk out of my finger!
