Hey peeps, I am attempting to organize a field trip to Az. in May (2009).. Anyone wanting to go please contact me. This will be a "Herping" trip, but now that I'm hooked on arachnids , it will also include T & scorp hunting as well..... This will be an opportunity for those of you interested in seeing some awesome Crot's (rattlesnakes) up close, and the chance to get photos with numerous species. Well cool lets get this planned, if ya cant make it, its all good. Die??, I dont remember posting for volunteers to die??::lol::... You'll be fine dude.. I'd like to leave on a Fri night, come back late Sun night.. We need to find someone with a vehicle with good gas mileage.. I cant take us on my Vespa..::lol::. ::lol:: I hear that.. Any car (not a truck for obvious gas consumption reasons) will do, if we can get a total of 3 other peeps, we'd be good to go. Im looking at hitting the 10 near Desert Center, then on to Blythe, then on into S. Arizona... I really want to do some scorp and T hunting, as well as see a variety of Crot species. Johnny great.. We are looking for someone with a car (my vehicle is a Vespa), if we can get someone to claim "CAR", we've got it..::lol::.. That would give us 5 people... Heres a list of what we should bring:
1.) $30-$40 gas ea.
2.) Water-(lots of it, or large refillable containers)
3.) enough pocket cash for food (for 2 whole days) or bring some along..
4.) Sleeping bags- (I just toss mine on the ground,tent optional)
5.) Snake bags, containers and tools (ie. tongs, hooks, tweezers etc.)
6.) Sunblock !!!! (Seriously...)
7.) 1-clean change of clothes (Makes a big diff...)
8.) Blacklight
I will also be bringing 2 way radios... Anyone want to bring a Vid camera, I would love to tape it and post online..

Now that sounds like its on.. Ok, $50-$60 each (cheaper than a trip to Hawaii, but who want to go there, no herps..), unless some pops out a yugo before then, Johnny's our man!!! (Or until I figure out how to add a 4 man side car to the Vespa...::lol::)....

A Honda civic would put us back to $30-$40 per person !!! ::lol::. This will be up to you guys, we may end up with a caravan.. Warren, its the 22-24th.. We can fudge the dates some, it doesn't matter if people see it that aren't going, it only matters to us.. But I want 2 full days at least out there, I have to get a black tail...
I just went out and bought a new hand held black light, Warren you can show me how to use it. I have only caught scorps flipping boards, and on the roads while looking for snakes, never found anything with the b-light before..
