Eric (crash), The Caseys(Sean & Denise), And Myself are planning a trip out to the Springs and surrounding areas to do a lil herp/invert hunting.
Its on a Friday so if anybody can get the time off your more then welcome to join us.

probably head out before noon, back sometime after dark.
we are going to go to Cabazon first and then whatever looks good in the springs area. I do know a hot spot for alot of Dune scorps. so that part will probably be the last spot to hit.

But what other items would be necessary on a hunt.
hat, sunblock if its hot?
Jacket as it gets cold once the sun goes down and the wind starts up.
containers
forceps/tweezers so ya dont get stung.
something to hold it all/ backpack/camel pack
Comfy shoes/boots
A good attitude
hiking stick also doubles as a trash flipper(so ya dont have to use your fingers)
fishing license if you plan on playing with any reptiles/amphibians
Regular and UV/Blacklight flashlights are a must. I have a couple of lil lights that I take just in case someone needs one. _________________ “Look down at me and you see a fool;

A flashlight/headlamp and blacklight and batteries would be handy since we will be targeting scorps. I've been getting a lot of harassment(cause they look dorky to some people) for using a headlamp but, they keep your hands free and only about $15 at Target.
Blacklights can be ordered online but, I think BioQuip sells them now. They are local in Rancho Dominguez. I have some extra ones coming for some of my coworkers but, I don't think they will be here by Friday. If they are I will lend them to people who attend.
Containers are a must if you plan on collecting, Smart and Final has a good selection of deli cups. Also some napkins to pad/insulate your creatures.
I tend to take a lot of random things, its best to be over prepared sometimes. It just makes the trip more enjoyable, when you're prepared.
Okay now heres the fun part where do ya all want to meet?
Some of\our most can carpool, probably 2 vehicles would do.

Unfortunately, I no longer have my Jeep Wrangler or I would drive people there. The spot I been talking about does not "require" any off-road driving but, if you have a vehicle with ground clearance it will make the trip more enjoyable. The last time I went there we parked the cars in a off-road location and we worried less about them.
I'm in Irvine so I'm the farthest South, It would be awesome if someone could grab me and I'd pay for some fuel.
PS, I have some extra UV lights now that people can borrow. If someone comes to get me, I might just let you have one

Frisco we can meet @ your house if theres no parking restrictions(cant afford another parking ticket) and then head out to Bass pro shops @ the 15 & 10 and meet the Caseys and Eric there and then follow each other out.

How about meeting in Ontario @ 11ish, then about an hour drive to the springs which will give us about 5+ good hours of daylight and then time for blacklighting.

I might be headed up there on Friday as well. Now that gas is down to a decent price I can start getting out more. I could meet you guys in Palm Springs, just give me a location.
