One thing that wasn't clear to me was how the "silk" the spider.
I know of at least one gun sight manufacturer that permanently employs Latrodectus in order to use their silk for crosshairs.
The method *they* use to "silk" the spider is applying a small electrical charge which induces the spider to produce silk.
They didn't mention anything like that in the article, but I'm almost certain they don't "sweet-talk" the N. madagascariensis into spinning just for the heck of it. _________________ God does not play at dice AE
