I stole this brilliant idea from Raul (thiscordia), who started a similar thread in the scorpion forum.
Let's list all of what we keep/have kept, for reference to newbies, or people who want to know all there is to know about rearing certain species in captivity. This way, we can find a person who has kept a species we are interested in, and ask away.

I'll list the tarantula species I have had extensive personal experience with:

Aphonopelma sp. "Eutylenum" (wild caught in San Diego, CA)
Aphonopelma reversum (wild caught in Glendale, CA)
Avicularia avicularia
Avicularia versicolor
Brachypelma vegans
Ceratogyrus darlingi
Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens
Cyriopagopus sp. “Singapore Blue
Grammostola aureostriata
Grammostola rosea
Haplopelma lividum
Haplopelma longipes
Holothele incei “Norte de Santander” (recieved with dyskinetic syndrome, died soon after)
Lasiodora parahybana
Nhandu chromatus
Nhandu coloratovillosus
Pamphobeteus fortis
Phormictopus cancerides
Psalmophoeus irminia
Poecilotheria ornata
Poecilotheria striata
Psalmopoeus cambridgei
Psalmopoeus irminia
Psalmopoeus pulcher
Pterinochilus murinus
Stromatopelma calceatum

Now it's your turn!

i am currently trying to concentrate on tarantula breeding, as opposed to just keeping random species.

right now i have mature females that i am breeding or intersested in breeding of

0.1.1 Cyclo. fasciatum
0.1.0 Haplo. lividum
0.1.0 Hetero. maculata
0.1.5 Poeci. regalis
0.1.1 Poeci. ornata
0.1.0 Cetatogyrus sp. "bechanicus" (large rearhorn)

i have succesfully bred G. rosea and P. regalis. I am waiting for sacs or molts on A. seemani and C. fasciatum [2007-11-5 i think my seemani molted out of the mating, not positive though. have to investigate when i get home. the fasc is getting a HUGE booty, even when i don't feed her... and she is burrowing for the first time ever... i'm getting excited!]

I would like to get a breeding group of P. ornata and maybe regalis and the large rear horn.

the dark red text is old ideas that have been traded/sold since

i have only 7 as my A. versi passed.

B. smithi (2) 1 f? 1?
B. auratum (1) ?
L. para. ( 1) F?
G. rosea (1) F
C. bech. (1) F
E. murinus (1) F?

i am interested in learning about them, all stages of thier lives. i think i enjoy the sling stage the most as they are very active.
i would like to breed the B. smithi ( i guess i don't have to now as talkenlate has cornered the market), L. para and the C. bech.

ah, most excellent. i have a penultimate male B. smithi. i have been slow growing him waiting to find someone with females. i might trade him but it would be to someone local so it would stay in the like, scabies family.

also, unless talken keeps breeding all his females (which he might very well do) all this years babies will be just starting to color up and not be direct competition anymore. no doubt he will be selling them for good prices that will depress fresh sling prices some... but i can't see smithi's sold at $5 being turned down ever. and there is always LPS's.

that's another thing scabies might be interesting for. we can develop a network of LPS's that people can pimp other members babies at. i have already tried to do it for DavidRS's versicolor (admittedly easy sell, heh) but we could do stuff like "buy these 10 G. rosea of caco's and we will also sell you these 5 T. blondi that Soandso bred"

i have so many ideas for scabies Twisted Evil

Okay, here's my list as it stands for now and i don't plan any new additions any time soon - well... except for the P. regalis and B. smithi deals. i'll go ahead and add them in. This list includes slings, juvies and adults. i've got some idea of the sex of some of my larger ones but i still list them as unsexed until i see a molt for myself.

0.0.4 Aphonopelma seemanni
0.1.1 Aphonopelma sp.
0.1.4 Avicularia avicularia
0.0.6 Avicularia versicolor
0.0.2 Brachypelma albopilosum
0.0.2 Brachypelma emilia
0.0.2 Brachypelma sabulosum
1.0.6 Brachypelma smithi
0.1.2 Brachypelma vagans
0.0.3 Ceratogyrus brachycephalus
0.0.1 Citharischius crawshayi
0.1.0 Ephebopus murinus
0.0.2 Grammastola aureostriata
0.0.1 Grammostola rosea
0.1.0 Nhandu chromatus (she's waiting for her boy toy to arrive  )
0.1.0 Poecilotheria pederseni
0.0.6 Poecilotheria regalis
0.0.6 Psalmopoeus irminia
2.1.0 Pterinochilus murinus

<edit> Had to change my E. murinus from unsexed to FEMALE as she molted tonight!! Very Happy

Okay, this is where i show my ignorance in the world of selling T's... What is LPS??

i also have a male B. smithi couldn't be more pre-molt - i could walk in my room and find him flipped over in the next five minutes. His very bald butt has been jet black for nearly 2 weeks. How do you know when they are just one molt away from maturing? i measured my guy but of course didn't write it down. i think he was about 5.5" This guy didn't molt for over two years while he was with his previous owner. He's been a good eater for me until just recently. Not sure why he didn't molt for so long. Anyway, just curious if there is anyone to know when he has one molt left... Does that make sense?

i could be wrong but from what i have read they have a different shape where the boxing gloves are going to be. almost like they have startied to take shape under the exoskeleton.. at 5.5 are you sure its not female? i was told that the males do not get as big as the females so that would be close huh? course i have very little experience sexing T's . it would be so much easier if they where sexualy dimorphic. maybe bright blue pre-hooks? ha!

Very interesting. i had a good look at him today as he still has not molted... and his pedipalps still look normal, no different shape or anything. i don't usually feel 100% with ventral sexing even brachy's. If they don't look obviously male i still call them unsexed. i just don't feel confident enough to call a female from a ventral sexing. However, as a few of my big girls molt and i can confirm my educated guesses i may get more confident. With this T i have no doubt - he is 100% male. i just never understand how people can say a male T is penultimate. i wish i knew what to look for or maybe you're right and i'm not seeing it because he isn't there yet. Confused

there is supposed to be a grouping of hairs in males around his furrow area that are used for transfering sperm to the sperm web and then to the palps. i am not sure how it is done or in what order. whether it be building the sperm web or transfering the sperm. several people on ab have given info there.

Yes, my boy definitely has the special hairs just above his furrow in a perfect half moon shape. It is so obvious you can see it from across the room - well, practically. i actually think he is going to molt tonight finally. He isn't much of a hair kicker at all - especially considering he's a B. smithi. Anyway, i just walked into my room and found him kicking hairs all over an area of his house and i inspected closer and found some fresh webbing on the substrate - though not as much as my other T's have done for their molt matts. His butt is so black it's actually blue tonight. He is my very favorite T. i will stay up all night if i have to!! i usually give the exoskeletons away to various friends who are beyond amazed by them. However, this one is mine!! i just hope his potential date didn't find another man!! i don't know who else i would trust with my boy!!
