The Coarsegold Tarantula Festival will be on Saturday October 25th. I will be leaving Friday morning and will be camping at Bagby again.  Returning on Sunday but will leave Monday open as an option. This is a great campground and perfect for carne asada. Youve heard how beautiful this area is and this is a chance to enjoy it with the family. Night bug hunting: we didnt even leave the campground driveway to find great stuff.

I called and no reservations need to be made as it is not a very busy weekend for them. Lake McClure is known for some good fishing, we'll see. Im planning to check it out.

I talked to the wife about this and she says it sounds like fun, so count us in also. this is where you and Eddy camped at last time?

Side note: did you score on any hotwheels? and we need to go to old town Pomona and score on some down there...

Hey Warren, its gonna be great if you go. A real memorable experience for the kids. This is the place where we all slept in our cars. There is a sign that points to a campground, well , thats it.....by the bridge. Right in the heart of our hunts area and yes, Eddy and I went there on that rainy weekend when Eddy ate all my chips. Same place I went back to camp at.

Didnt find any Hot Wheels nor records nor books. I go to the Pomona area often too. You really have to see my collection one day when I get it out of storage which should be soon.

Oh man, wish I could make this... I sold off so much of my fishing gear, I don't do Inshore, off shore or fresh water anymore... Haven't had a license in years.

If I went you wouldn't see me till it was time to head out anyways, hahaha.

Well, Rakie.... at this point it appears that we're gonna need two vehicles. It'd be really cool if you went too. I can still take my truck and throw alot of stuff in the back.

Warren, will you have room for one or two people? You could always throw the big stuff in my truck. Maybe Crash can also drive? We gotta plan it out already. Emo wants to take a friend which will be cool. Who from SFBATS is going?

Lemme check out their board.

I'm got the time off from work to go! I'm honestly am afraid to take my car to a "rural area" its got 200,000 miles on it and about to go adios. If theres room for me in anyones car I'm more than willing to help out with gas.

Well, Emo wants to take a friend but I dont think there'll be room. If he doesnt then we're ok: Crash, Eddy, Emo, my daughter and myself, in the truck will be very confortable.  Are we allowed to have people in the camper? Give him a sleeping bag, chips and an iPod and he'll be happy in the camper,,, ::lol::

Johnny my engine kinda got busted. I asked for the day already my question is...is there anyone that can pick me and drive me to your place? I'm getting hooked up with a really cheap (low milage) engine but I gotta wait like a month. I've already been car-less for like 2 weeks.

I'll come grab ya, if no one else will. My car sucks but, it gets good gas mileage, hahaha

It will make it around SoCal just fine but, no way will I take it up North. I can't buy a car till some issues in my life clear up. Its pretty bad, burning oil and the wheel bearing are about to go bye bye and a bunch of mystery noises

OK, Back in L.A.

So here's the plan:

Emo says he cant leave till 2pm. Im gonna see if I can get him to leave at 12 noon, which is a perfect departure time. He lives very close to me so picking him up wouldnt kill alot of time. Crash and the Abyss will be at my house and throw everything in the back of the truck. Just gotta coordinate with Warren later.

Mariposa weather forecast: Friday, Saturday and Sunday = Sunny @ 85 degrees highs

Will need:
Firewood
An ice chest/cooler thats safe for the critters.
Fishing license if planning to fish. 1 day permit should do.
1 or 2 lanterns.
Beer
Water and sodas
Carne Asada, hot dogs, hamburger meat, side stuff.
Flashlight , UV flashlight, your bug backpack, containers.
Small , battery operated radio/cd player with extra batteries.

Already have:
Folding table
Small grill
Large netted tent
Additional small tent

It's not a "bear" watch or food lockup area but there may be marauding racoons, possums, squirrels but our biggest threat to our food will be Eddy  Laughing

Are any SFBATS people going?

I'm not able to go. My wife put me on restriction, err car restriction that is, shes gotta go out of town for work related B.S. and well my lil grey car aint gonna cut the mustard.
So if anybody needs to borrow some gear I have a 10 man tent, a 2-3 man tent, coleman gas stove and some other stuff laying around.
