Sounds like San Fernando valley offers suitable environments for these critters. One would think the lobsters, being more prolific breeders would make it out first, apparently not.

i've seen a dead mature male at my friends house in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

it was in their pool filter. i thought it somehow got out of my container, on me, and to their house until i realized the odds of it making it into their filter after all that were quite small
