Bad news....I found one of my scorps dead tonight as I made my rounds feeding.
My new C. Hentzi was dead sitting on top of his hide (it usually was on its vertical bark pieces). I can't really figure out why it died. I don't have any gauges in this small enclosure (plastic critter keeper), but temps were probably around 80 with 65-70% humdity. Water was available and I observed it drinking on Wednesday. It ate a pinhead on Monday. I tried to feed it last night but the pinhead was still in there this morning. I removed the pinhead before going to work. The scorp was alive when I left for work this morning.
I am really bummed out as I really liked the C. Hentzi. I guess I can be happy that the rest of my little ones are healthy and getting along well. Anyhow, if anyone has a one or more C. Hentzi's they would be interested in selling please PM me.

You know, maybe I am going to rethink C. Hentzi's. I got two of them in yesterday. Both were supposed to be 3rd instar but one was bigger than the other. I fed both last night. The bigger one agressively attacked and ate its food. The other ignored it and at one point the cricket stood on top of the little guy for about a minute and the scrop didn't even react. I removed the cricket figuring I'd try again later. This morning the smaller one was dead on its back. The larger one seems to be very active and healthy, but I am frustrated about the small one. Maybe it was just stressed out from shipping, but for crying out loud I've lost two of the little buggers now.
All of my other guys are alive and well. I just keep wondering if I am doing something wrong, but I double check caresheets for the C. Hentzi and I am doing exatly what they list... So frustrating.

sounds like you got an unhealthy one. C. hentzi are easily replaced I get them by the dozens.

Thats what I was figuring, but I like posting my experiences so other can chime in. Plus I value others input because the last thing I want to do it have one die due to lack of proper care or some stupid accident.
Thanks for your input.

I've had bad luck with this species because I let them dry out. I kinda forgot I had them but they are pretty easy to breed. Maybe bark scorpions aren't your doing I suggest a desert species. But barks are pretty active.
