Banded Milli picsI have found 3 adult millis of this species and I am keeping one. IMO they are one of the most beautiful millipedes in NA, other than the awesome flat ones.
Both of these were ~4", found in Laguna Canyon. I will take pictures of the one I kept from another location that is less sensitive than the canyon area sometime later...

yeah, i am always impressed with this species when i see it. seem pretty wide spread, too. can pull dozens out of the wastelands.

OOOOOOH! That's must be big. I love these guys too. Would love to have one someday. They're so cute. They're safe to handle right? I want to make sure before hand.

they can stain your skin so it looks nasty bruised widow
doesn't hurt you afaik... but it looks pretty crazy and can last days

i think it was this sp... but i tasted the poison. it was quite sour indicated it might be low ph/acid based

It wasnt me at the BBQ but I have gotten chemical burns from these guys. They actually have a mild stinging sensation!
