some of the CA salamanders (or wahtever) are freakin awesome looking. i saw one that had like, golden rose shapes embedded all over it!

i have to admit, this isn't technically in situ, but it appears that posts are being divided by local/exotic and not wild/captivity...
anyway, it ate 8 termites today(!) and has a really long tongue (like, the length of the head).
i was expecting it to die within a few days but it's looking more promising

once we get enough threads i will go and resort stuff IS/IC
very cool! getting it to eat is a very nice step towards getting it to thrive

when i get home from work, ill post some california sal pics. in my opinion, california has some of the COOLEST salamanders in the world....2nd only to mexico.

based on the little bit i have seen and read i can certainly say that we have some amazingly beautiful ones!

no, there aren't any places close to me that sell them, and when I try to culture them they either mold up too fast or are too wet and the flies get stuck.
