Hello Wilhelm,
I am sorry to kill your hopes but this is a Bug Show.
Perhaps you can find bugs that resemble tortoises, but a real chelonid, I doubt it.
Just a remainder make sure to bring your female C lamanai to the BBBQ I will bring my male.

Emo: my friend Sandy breeds tortoises -- I sold two of her baby Russians at the Anaheim show for $45 each, but she has at least two or three other kinds as well. What kind of tortoises are you looking for?

Hey Everybody,
Working the show was a awesome experience. Being able help someone hold and pet a tarantula for the first time is pretty funny and gives the hobby a chance to grow. I think I convinced a few parents to let their kids purchase inverts today too! Hopefully we gain some new members too from the show, a few people who seem to have some "advance" knowledge grabbed our card and a few that realized that there are others out there crazy about inverts.
My friend also told me the dean of the Cal Poly was at our table and she talked to him for a bit. Also numerous people commented on how we were featured on "California Gold" with Huell Howser. So it looks like SCABIES is getting tons of exposure.

Francisco, thanks so much for everything-including the critters. I learned so much from you and I appreciate your patience. I now have a new appreciation for all different types of bugs (still not crazy about roaches or Centipedes) and I learned alot about them just by working with you.
It was nice educating the public and I hope we gained some new members as well!

It looks like SCABIES and the Insect Fair really stirred the interest in some people. We have a few new members and I'm sure a few kids walked away with some new invert pets after playing with our bugs at the SCABIES table. My friend who came to visit me the 2 days at the show fell in love with all the butterflies on display. I got her a display box from BioQuip and we loaded up on butterflies. Here is what she created, Maybe I should let her re-pin by bug box, looks cool

No I bought her from Andrew for $35 last week (from his listing on SCABIES) and if you look up above in this thread you will see Andrew said he'd bring her and "something bonusey" since I told him he could keep the $10 shipping if he gave her to Francisco to give me. Ask either of them and they'll confirm this.

Yeah, I had a feeling you didn't. Warren's evil trick worked better than I'm sure he anticipated.
BTW, You have an awesome T. She is unbelievable mellow and practically listens to commands like a dog.

Yeap actually at 1st I just thought he had confused her with another T ... then I thought some more and started to worry. I'm not mad just feel like an idiot for falling for it haha.
So I'd been itching to try holding a T for awhile but have been worried about it suddenly running off my hand or flicking hairs. So when I saw that Andrew was selling his mellow display spider I thought she'd be perfect ... also she's a local and quite beautiful Since you've handled her already should I let her climb the side of her home (once I get her ofc hehe) onto my hand or can just I reach in and gently herd her onto my hand?

That local T was the calmest I have ever handled. Mine won't stay still and shoots poop at me . She did her good deed at the show and eased the fear most kids and adults have of spiders/T's.

Thanks, Eric

hahaha! scabies is bug famous!
you know, either adam or myself could put together a trip to hopefully collect more of that type of spider. they are found in northern los angeles county i would like to see her species in the hobby as she is such a perfect living display. of course, it could turn out she is an uncharacteristically nice individual... but i expect they will all be as pretty as she is.
plus, it would be cool to collect immature males and having them mature after we know they look similar preultimate
