Captivity kills

damnit... just took a quick drive into very close local hills to collect some wood/rocks..look for bugs..etc...   Came across a beautiful Anuroctonus phaiodactylus (i think correct ID).  Was a quick drive back, but had no h2o.  15min drive and the poor thing overheated ...only a few twitches...dead now fairly certain.  Been waiting here for a miraculous recovery, but even the twitches have ceased.  I really hate when I make bad decisions like that.  Wish i hadnt spotted it.. it be still out there doing its thing.    Confused  Confused
Celeste

Sorry to hear it...  Not the first time that has happened, though.  People really need to be prepared if they're going collecting...  :-/
Steven

Crazzzzy though (not totally surprised) ...it has recovered somewhat ...enough to keep its tail up, using its legs and react a bit.
MAY have made it through this afterall ...a little time will tell.

Seriously, though...the bugger really was limp toast with no signs of life for an hr or so!   Confused  Cool [/i]

That's how three of my Vinegaroons were when I came home and found the UPS guy had left their shipping container out in the sun on my front porch...  Two of them died, but one came back to life a few hours later.  I would have *sworn* she was toast, too.  I hope yours pulls through O.K.!

Scorpions are...weird like that. I had a Vaejovid that was DEAD, even Dr. Sissom thought it was dead(he was IDing it), the next day it was up and running around.
Steven

Spunkier today, but not feisty like when I caught it.  It did move some dirt around (a little) ...which is a great sign.   Cool
MUD

wow. hopefully it comes back and is back to normal

Hey Kevin ...   ....do i owe u some $?..  just cant remember. [ 4the luscious tail ya brought by?]

MUD ..its concerned with itself ...hiding from light ...curling up..so forth.  Thats normal behavior ...so...maybe no "retardation". Simpler systems.. human/mammal would have been permanently vegi meeshed.
One thing though ...its been ""humbled"" cause it was an attacker when caught and now its just... well seems...just happy to be alive.   Very Happy
What

Nope, you dont own me any $$$, (didnt get the message I left on your phone?) Smile
