catching scorpionsokay so im new to the world of inverts but i hear there are a bunch where i live here in redlands california...but how do i get them out of there hole?

the best way to go is at night with a UV light. They glow so much it's almost immposible not to see them. Let me know if your going hunting I just got a new UV light I've been dying to take out,

BLACK LIGHT at night!!!!
you can get them during the day too.....but it's a lot harder, and less successful.
remember, they're nocturnal, and so they are hiding during the day.
at night, not only do they come out.....but a blacklight will make them extemely obvious!

flipping rocks and logs is a good way to find scorps and centipedes,its also a great workout  and can be done during the day

no i probally wont go on a "hunt"...just more of a i got 2 minutes between classes and nothing to do so ill go down there and poke around....but i also have a blacklight that i bought for halloween...so if i get the chance i may go down to the wash at night and take a quick looky...only prob with being out at night in my area is that youll probally get shot by someone or get eaten by the cyotes and wild dogs at the wash...or get kidnapped by a weird homeless person....::lol:: thanks for the info guys....

i would definitely not go at night alone if your area is like my area
however, i am apparently an honorary member of the weird homeless person club and more lucky than any one person has a right to be (and one hell of a talker... and sprinter heh) so if you ever do feel like checking out some areas in depth, hit me up (i live in san berdo till i can move the hell somewhere else)
