I happened to be sitting (on a hard wooden chair) at the computer at the time, which is why I felt it. My son (who was moving around the living room at the time) didn't feel anything.

I'm in Irvine and it was pretty strong over here. It also lasted long enough were I had time to think about what to save. So, I had time to go run across my animal room and hug the shelf with all my arboreal T's.

Yeah it lasted a good 20 seconds, which was enough for me to throw the lid on the obt's, and hold my onto my T shelves

I didn't feel a thing here in Bakersfield. Mountains probably absorbed it all. heh
When I still had my 55 gallon aquarium set up, an earthquake was my biggest fear. I'd read so many stories of big tanks cracking in earthquakes.

Pretty intense here, I thought I was going to have to chase 1/2 a dozen rattlers, and 76 T's around the neighborhood tonight if it got worse...

It was pretty strong in Long Beach which is maybe 15 to 20 miles from Hawthorne. Felt like 30 seconds which means it was really about 10 and I just rode it out laying on my sofa. All my enclosures are fine ... that may be the only time ALL my critters were moving at the same time

I hear it was the rupture of some fault (partial or something?), maybe not. I didn't feel it, and woke up this morning to everything normal and in place. Glad to see everyone else is ok.

I was in Victorville at the time. I didn't feel anything, but my sister said she felt a slight shake.

Matt: I was trying to quote your message and reply but must have hit the wrong button and edited your message instead -- sorry!
I'll take it out.

I was in Cochabamba, Bolivia and I thought I felt something.
Then I realized that it was the guy sitting next to me who had passed a heavy load of gas.
