It's a fun meeting, but it's geared towards academia and business. There are vendors like Bioquip, but it isn't a great place to track down your next buy. If you are interested in the science though...really think about going (I am registered and going this year). It is super expensive though if you're not already a member of ESA (I think over 400!), but it is also easy to crash if you wanted to catch a few seminars. I say go online and check out the speakers and see if there is anything you are interested in, it's really easy to sit in on anything you'd like. But...they do check ID tags at the display floor where the vendors are, so you do have to be registered to get in that area.
