Finally Molted!!!!I have been waiting for 6 months for this un ID'd Aphonopelma to molt, and last night it happened.. What a beauty, I think this girl is from California..

When you say here... do you mean really local (as in close by), or just California. We are going to have to ask him Matt , wouldn't mind doing another local T breeding project.

He lived here in OC, I am not sure where he caught her, or where "he" is .. She was a drop off last summer..

Gl, I tried last year, with two different species of males, and no dice. She was very receptive to both, and both had successful insertions on 3 occasions. Anyways, I *think* the males of both types were out in October, so, it might be that there is another species breeding either before or after that.
What Im thinking is that there are *very* specific environmental cues for all breeding related activities.
Anyways, as for the locality... there are at least 20 specific ones I know of, with healthy populations of these, then another 5 with small populations.
