help! my scorpion is acting funnyI woke up this morning to find that my scorpion was on it's side, tail stretched out, and legs curled up. though she moves her legs and her mouth pinchers... She's been acting fine, previously. I have two ideas: one, she's shedding, or two she's giving birth. her belly is rather large, and the man i recieved her from said she should be pregnant... So, has any one seen these actions in a scorpion before? i'm sure they have. i'm used to spiders, not scorpions o_o...
she's an Arizona Desert Hairy Scorpion. She's about 4 inches, not including her tail. she didn't move when i picked her up. i've had scorpions a few times before, and i know what they look like when they die, and this doesn't look like it. please any scorpion peoples tell me whats wrong with mah baby ;_;

Do you have a picture? it's hard to say without one. the only time any of my scorps look like what you describe is when they are dead/close to death. have you tried giving it any water? did you offer it anw water lately and how hot is the enclosure?

Her entire body is pulsating... I make sure she has water. the tank actually was a little too cold, in the evening, which, in my experience, if she were dying due to cold, she would have just calmed down... should i attempt to mist her? She's been like this all morning, for the last 4 hours (i noticed at 8:45 in the morning, is now 12:45).

iT MIGHT BE MOLTING, i'VE NEVER SEEN ANY OF MY SCORPS MOLT FROM BEGINING TO END. i WOULDNT MIST IT JUST MIGHT MAKE THINGS WORSE. MAYBE ADD SOME WARMTH IN THE AREA, AND KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON HER.
Edit. Sorry for the caps the lock was on.

if you want to take a look at her, personally, she (and I) are at California Pets in Orange. I'll keep her warmth up. i'll also keep you updated. still pulsating.

Sound like it's dying to me. If it is in fact trying to molt.....it might also be dying. Spray a VERY small area of the enclosure and see what happens.

well, her pigment has lightened, looking like there is a second layer. her claw teeth (forgive me, i forget their names) are still moving at a high speed, and she's regularly pulsating. Her "ear-hairs" underneather her (forgive me again) twitch regularly. it's been like this for 8 hours. the day before, she was "digging sparatically", which i know she diggs any way. but for her to jump from lively to death sounds strange to me, especially when normally her heat is kept well, and anything that falls into her tank she devoirs. i would be really sad to see her die, she is/was a great scorpion. About how long does the average shedding take? she still responds to noise and other things.

If her tail is flat it's dying but what you described(poorly ) seems like it might be molting. It might take a few days the actual process takes a few hours.

edit: she's dead. *feels depressed and lethargic...*
in response, I would like to make a request to purchase/adopt a new scorpion from some one. I posted a "wtb scorpion". thanks.
