Heteropoda boiei molting sequence Warning lots of pics.

Hello All,
Ok I was feeding the other day and I cought one of my girls molting.

Wow!  Gorgeous spider!  She looks like she's "all legs"!

This thing is huge.  Witch family is it ??

If i was to guess i would say Pisauridae. Heteropoda sp. does sound familiar but i can't remember witch family it's from.

I'm guessing Pisauridae cuz that spider is very similar to the Pisaurina genus but like 2-3 times bigger . Smile

How interesting that she remained suspended from the abdomen area as to not drop to the substrate.... is that done deliberately?

yeah, i believe that is sthe kinda standard way for trues to molt

Sparassidae. They're in the family Sparassidae.
