I have a dream: By State Mygalomorph Guide

i am seriously considering making a go at having a by state guide to all the mygs in the USA (similar to what i did to Shelley's scolopendromorph stuff.  i have done a few states (CA, WA, NC) to a limited extent already and feel like it is possible but would be a lot of work

i would be willing to work on the non-theraphosidae part... i just don't have as much interest in taras.... and my gods, it would be GRUELING!

i am making a matrix of all the species in the USA according to Platnick 9.5 by the states.  i might actually think about doing a database on my website so that users can hash info multiple ways

in no way am i going for a complete rigorous workup... i basically intend to google my red eyes out and come up with a reasonable approximation.   i am thinking of possibly making Family and maaaybe genus level maps... but that is a ton of work =P

anyhow, if anyone was willing to help out i would definitely give credit where credit is due... i don't really have enough worked out to know exactly what i would want help with, yet, though =P

it is actually going pretty good. balam helped out a bit, too

now i am debating whether to announce it to the other forums now or wait until it is a bit more complete

i think when i announce it i am going to have a link to the index page for the state lists on the scabies forum and a link to a BIG ol' table i am going to generate off of a spreadsheet i am concurrently making that i am going to host on my website (i need to get more traffic =P )

three or four hours of sleep and once more into the fray!

i am getting really excited about this.  obviously it is not rigorous at all... but i have never seen anything done like it before

once i am a bit more confident we have gleaned 97+% of the info from the net i can start making cludged maps for Family, genus, and maybe even species

thank the gods for wiki commons maps i can download and alter Smile

alrighty, i would say version 1.0 is done Smile
