I found an interesting Orb Weaver... I don't know WHAT it is, but if i can describe it, it would say it looks like Argiope Aurantia, only the colors on the back are inverted. and the legs have more red, in segments... If I had a good camera, i would have taken a pic... can some one direct me to some sort of classification? I live in Santa Ana, so location may help.

Ok, I think I found it... but the spider is subposed to be in texas... Neoscona oaxacensis? But instead of having Grey legs, it has the red segments with the blackened joints. but yea. i thought it was pretty enough to be

Neoscona and assorted similar orb weavers have many many species in them, almost all of which can have a decent amount of variation in coloration. to ID a spider down to species for sure you most likely are going to have to look at fairly minute characteristics. if you can find out all the spiders possible in the range you might be able to do a more simple process of elimination to figure out what you have
