Hello,
How about in December????
We can have a Christmas theme and do a gift exchange, what do you guys and girls think?????

We have Dec 6th and the 13th

francisco
AGTrauger

ROADTRIP!  But Dec 13th isn't good for me Sad
DeniseCasey

All sounds good.

I would like to host one after the holidays around Feb. and March. The good news is, I want to host the whole thing so no one has to bring food.  cheers

Maybe we should start a thread with the months listed and people can sign up for what month they would like to host. What do you think?

Heck, we drove all the way to Quail Valley, Moreno Valley is no problem. What do you have in your pond? Just curious?! I use to build them for a living.

I'm definitely game! Sounds fun. I have a board mtg one of those Sat's. I'll have to double check which day before I can commit. I have to go to the board mtg for my agility club because it's our final mtg of the year and we're voting on next year's board. I'll try to find out tmrw.

Don't forget the Reptile Super Show is the weekend of Jan 3 & 4

Never! That weekend is already etched in stone! You should join us for dinner this time. It will give the group a quiet place to talk and plan conspiracies!
WBurke17

I think Jan. sounds good. we can start a poll and let the masses decide or if you have a preference of days let me know and I'll get the ball rollin...

can we bring fishing poles???? I need some koi for my pond Wink
Jules

We could still do a holiday celebration with a small gift exchange if people want to. My agility club does a gift exchange game. That way you only have to bring a gift (pick a dollar amt/value) if you want to participate in the game. It's a lot of fun! Just an idea! Smile
Heks

im seconding the fishing pole thing... whats up with fishing.. im in either way though
ogershok

If you have a pond you may never get rid of me.
Celeste

Don't ya just love it when people are lining up to volunteer to host the BBBQs?!  :-D

Well I have a fairly big backyard so after Moreno Valley I'm next  Wink (San Gabriel)
and a Dec BBQ sounds cool but not on the 6th Laughing
Because that day(For all those Boxing Fans)....
Arborealis

Well, it's John's (Le_Wasp) place. He said he'd like to have it here as long as I do all the work. ::lol::. The pond has Koi, goldfish, catfish, and bullfrogs in it. It's pretty big and he dug, pick-axed and built the whole thing himself last summer.

Lightly dredged in seasoned flour and quickly sauteed in butter. Heaven on earth. My buddy who works for CA Fish and Game took me out to an area near U.C.Davis that was overrun with them. He was actually getting paid to catch them and could keep all he caught himself. We ate like kings. French kings.

Damn it

Damn it I missed the November BBQ Evil or Very Mad … someone is gonna have to remind me every time there is a BBQ. Eric up to the task? Warrren? Anyone? Confused

Ok, so did anything happen in regards this event?

I wasn't as enjoyable last BBQ, my wife and son were both sick and the air quality due to the fires was just bad overall.

So Moreno Valley!!!!! YAY here I come!!!!

DATE, TIME AND ADDRESS!!!!
Arborealis

It seems like people are torn between the 17th and the 25th. Those interested can pm me for the address and we should probably get a food thread started. I have to request the day off of work at least three weeks ahead of time so the sooner I know which weekend is best the better.
WBurke17

Well if its a tie Kitty you get to to be the tie breaker and choose
ftorres

Hello ALl,
Hopefully Jan 17th is not chosen for the BBBQ as I have another event that I would love for some of you to attend.

The annual Potluck for the Lorquin Society.

hope you all mark your calendars.

francisco
Arborealis

The 25th would probably work better for me.
SeanCasey

Ok so what is the official date?

I also see this thread mentions the 25th and the pool was about the 24th?

Anything set in stone?
WBurke17

It's the 24th.
I'll start the food thread in a lil while.

Psshhh I don't want to hear it!  Every BBQ so far has been at least that for me and I attend.
Celeste

Lick496 wrote:

Lick:  if you don't mind conforming to my insane schedule maybe I can give you a ride.  I'd probably have to leave here around 2 pm and leave there no later than ~6 pm to return home.  But that would still give a couple of hours there (better than nothing).  Send me a private message if you're interested.

And anyone else who needs a ride anywhere along the way between the San Fernando valley and Moreno Valley and doesn't mind my stupid schedule is welcome, too!

-- Celeste
Herpetologyfrk

Thirty minutes for me! It's like going to Anahiem...except in the other direction haha
Cynjay

Thanks I will be there ! Can I bring an IM B.Bohemie ?
Celeste

Generally, people bring LOTS of their inverts, so unless it is particularly deadly or illegal or something all inverts are usually welcome.  You can bring stuff you have to sell or trade, too.
rosenkrieger

Im gonna try to make it if i can get the day off. Smile
Herpetologyfrk

Speakin of BBQs ...came across this classic pic of our founding member Cacoseraph. This is from WAY back when he was still in his prime.

You newbie kids dont have a clue what it was like back then.  The bugs were bigger and the fireworks were awesome!  Wink  happy1
rosenkrieger

Lmfao, that's amazing.
WBurke17

Thats freakin funny Steven, I like the added touch on the license plate Wink
balam

Did you notice that, pretty cool Steven.
GOMER113

T Transport, please?

Good day, everyone.

I'm unable to make it to the BBQ, but if someone could help me out, I'd much appreciate it.

I have an A. seemanni that I'm selling to rosenkrieger, who will be attending the BBQ.  Would anyone from OC be willing to help me to transport it there?  I could drop it off with you Friday evening, or Saturday morning.

If anyone is able to help, PM please.

Thanks,

Gomer
Steven

edit:  doh! Sorry Gomer.  All going to the Q, read the post above.  Wink

Ha ha! good eye!  Some tailoring, beard trim with a little gablu/unshama in the end ...so if you swiped it for whatever reason ...grab it again.
Arborealis

Roach Races??

If someone can provide the track we'll provide the roaches. We have some HUGE hissers and some Dwarf Cave roaches (not so dwarfish in all reality).

Also, I need to know if anyone is afraid of dogs. We have two dogs. They both love people and wouldn't hurt a fly but I realize some people may be afraid of them. If we have to I can take them to my mom's for the afternoon but she lives half an hour away so I'd rather avoid the drive if at all possible.
balam

I still have the clear sleeves... they are 4ft long. But... didn't someone make a track last time?

I know for a fact you have a whole pile of dog *lovers* in scabies (me, Bugmom, Jules, Denise, and Warren at a minimum).  Your pooches shouldn't have to vacate the premises for the occasion!  I vote for the pups staying!  :-)
~Abyss~

depends on what kind of dog....jk. I love all dogs.
BamBaboons

they are bird aggressive are they?

Yeah, probably wouldn't be a good idea to bring birds if the dogs are going to be there. I know Gypsy has a pretty strong prey drive.

Still probably not a good idea. It might excite the dogs too much and I don't want them to freak out the bird (or worse).
Arborealis

If anyone is worried about rain we can set stuff up inside if need be. I know it's not very BBQish but better than not having one. It's not supposed to rain tomorrow but who knows.
balam

So.... do we have a track? or should I take the clear sleeves?
~Abyss~

If we end up being indoors is there gona be tv access? I can bring guitar hero if anyone wants to play. The game is very addicting by the way.
BamBaboons

*O* guitar herooooooo! your on. ::lol:: I'm getting better at it XD

also, the surprise mentioned earlier will not be accompanying me, as there will be dogs.. but for those of you who were wondering what the heck..

here are some pics

maybe i could host a BBBQ at y grand parents house, they have 20 ares to bug hunt! and a big deck... maybe huh?
~Abyss~

Sounds good. I'll bring the Playstation and GH if it's ok with the host.
balam

That's freaking cute Bam!, pretty cool, I'm not much of a bird person, but then again I've never owned one.
noexcuse4you

Is that the one that's taking up a rediculously large tank in your shed? ::lol::. I'd take him if my 55 gallon tank wasn't full of water. I don't think he'd appreciate that too much.  Razz
