Hey Steven... in order to take that guess at it being an arizonica did you go by what is available on the hobby? or just by color?

I probably spoke way to soon. I think i was assuming it was collected locally. ..and if it were, then odds are it is not hibernalis.
|
balam

No it wasn't collected locally... at least not that I know of... Now I have to ask Johnny.

So, is that the only determining factor as far as species?? ...... We definitely have to get some on our Arizona trip in May.

Well it hasn't molted... at least I don't think so, I try not to move the container too much right now, and she lives on the crevices below a small pile of cork bark, but from the times I have seen her lately I am yet to see an exuvia. It hasn't molted once since I got her.

|
balam

I think these guys can grow to 1"- 1 1/2 in body size and about 3" or a tad more with the leg span... Just waiting!

TheJackal

huh thats pretty cool, ive never been much for true spiders besides widows. Its common name is the "house spider" right? can these be found on our turf?

Crevice spider, velvet spider, south western house spider???
I've caught a few on fishing trips. They bolt out of their burrows (yes, burrows, in that area, which resemble mini T burrows) but generally calm down.
Balam, whenever youre down for a trip just lemme know.

Im pretty mixed up on which Kuks went where. I think the one I gave you was from Kevin (What). The ones I get are in Hesperia but I lost track of which is which. I also got slings from Kevin recently.
I also want to do a night hunt for Olios,,,im talking about maybe this weekend. What about tomorrow??.....

I'm actually tied up this whole weekend as well (ISSE show in Long Beach). Maybe the week of the 9th.. let me know. My work schedule is always pretty erratic, that's why I try not to commit unless I know I will be able to make it.
