Large Fuzzy Mariposa Spider

during the second trip up to Mariposa a number of us saw, but failed to capture (on "film" or in a jar) a large huntsmenesque spider

i would like to catch it

it was at least 3" DLS and pretty quick.  looked like it didn't make much in the way of webbing.

i seem to recall it was a combo of dark and light brown but i am a little vague on the coloration for sure

we saw the spiders at night.  i believe we saw two dif individuals, both of which where over 3" DLS

sounds like another road trip eh.

funny, that is exactly what i was thinking and what ftorres said

oh!  the large-ish true spiders that we collected about 10 of on the second trip were thought to maybe be the immature form of this fuzzy one... but nhaverland brought in an extremely similar looking spider to the ones we collected that had made an eggsac so now we think they are two diff species

Interesting..... The ones we brought have grown but they all appear to be males which has left me wondering if the females are free-roaming. Ive been thinking about taking pics of each one and have you guys take a look at them. Could the ones youre talking about be the females???

There is a campground that I got information on and have been thinking of going out there and spending a night or two.
