Lifespan question

Hello all! My question is regarding the typical lifespan of a captive scorpion. In particular Hadrurus ariz and Centruroides sculpturatus. Just curious as I know it varies from species to species.

Thanks and glad to be a member!

Welcome,
The H.arizonisis i beleive has about a 5-7 year life span and the C.scup not sure but I have an adult female for close to 3 years now.
Also depends on if its still immature when you get them or as adults. Feeding cycles and heat also make a big difference on their life spans.

If ya have anymore questions just ask.

H. az have been know to live up 20 years. But  5-10 year is usually the norm. As for C. sculpts, i think someone said their lifespan is about 3-5 years but many have people have been pushing that 5 year limit.
cacoseraph

centruroides and most of the family the belong to tend to be quicker maturing and dying species

hadrurus is medium-long lifespan

the warmer and fatter you keep your scorpions the faster they will grow and thus die. i heard an awesome rule of thumb... every +10*C will double the metabolism of the invert (obviously this is not open ended... too hot just cooks them and too cold just kills them)
