Have some of it but would like some help.
ogershok

I was kidding. Duh. Is that a list of what you'd like folks to bring? If so, put me down for pork and beans. Baked limas with country style ribs. The recipe that Grandma wished she knew.

There was a young man from Sparta,
who was known as a masterful farter.
On the strength of one bean,
He's play "God Save The Queen"
And Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.

Thank you, I'll be here all week. Try the veal.
The_Arachnid

yes thanks
Celeste

Not THAT long ago ....scabies is a relatively new 'organization'  ...maybe this 1? ....http://scabies.myfreeforum.org/about36.html  ?
Mad Hatter

I can bake&bring chocolate chip cookies.  Wink
The_Arachnid

that would be great thanks
GOMER113

Would beer and hookah be OK?  I usually bring two or three gallons of microbrew and I've also taken a four-hose hookah pipe the last couple of times I've been to a BBQ.

Since you're in Ontario, I suppose I could also pick up some Hooters wings in place of one or both of my above mentioned items.
balam

I think he/she mentioned no alcohol... but you can bring them in a cooler and leave them inside my car Wink Laughing
GOMER113

Laughing I didn't see beer mentioned in the list of items the host wants us to bring, so I thought I'd ask. No alcohol, no problem.
ogershok

Sorry gang, disregard my previous postings. I won't be making it to this BBQ afterall.
Mad Hatter

No alcohol? Sad (how boring, but ok)

ogershok, sorry to hear you won't be able to make it. That's really too bad. Maybe next time, I hope?
BamBaboons

D: aw, Chase and I will have to make a stop up there to visit you one day, as of rite now its iffy if chase and i will be able to go. he may or may not get the day off.
Celeste

Did anyone specify a time for this BBQ?

I want to volunteer food, but need to figure out what time I'd be going first.
The_Arachnid

Im thinking about 12 to 2
Celeste

Only two hours???  Usually they run for about 5 hours (or more).  But you're the host -- if that's what you want.
The_Arachnid

maybe 12 to 5
Celeste

Hi, All

Apparently, there is a little problem with the BBBQ this Saturday:  The_Arachnid did not get his parents' permission to host a scabies event at his house, so it will need to be moved or postponed.  (The_Arachnid:  if you get your parents' permission, we can host it at your house sometime in the future, O.K.?  And I will get confirmation with your mom first next time).

Anyone else want to volunteer to host?  I can offer my place (in La Crescenta) if no one else is able to host this Saturday.  Francisco will post a poll to see if people want to postpone or move the event.
ftorres

Hello ALl,
Please everyone read this, it is important.

Hello All,
OK it seems we will have the BBBQ this saturday after all.

please I need to know the following

who is coming and if you will be bringing food, drinks, donation for the raffle or other.

thanks

francisco
GOMER113

Does this mean we can bring beer now? (and hookah?)

Also, I might be bringing a guest or two (cousin and his girlfriend).

I might also have some used KKs and flower pots for the raffle.  Plus a ton of G. rosea slings FS/FT/FF.
ftorres

Hello All,
Omar you are welcome to bring your guest, I am also sure Celeste would not mind the Beer and the Hookah.

I know Oscar will be all over those G rosea slings.   Shocked  Shocked  Shocked  Shocked  Shocked  Shocked  Shocked

Beer and hookah are O.K. as long as there's nothing illegal in the hookah (my neighbors on the west side are not too friendly, and I'm sure they would love an excuse to call the cops).  Fine Scotch is also encouraged.
GOMER113

cheers  cheers  cheers  cheers  cheers
Nothing illegal in the hookah, I assure you.

Fine scotch, eh?  I'll see what I can do.
cheers  cheers  cheers  cheers  cheers
Celeste

Here's what I have on hand:

Some beef (Eye of Round steaks)
Macaroni and cheese
Fruit (apples, oranges, and grapes)
Juicy Juice (for the kids)
Assorted Scotches (for the grownups)
Assorted ice creams

(I won't have time to cook, so if you want anything else, bring it yourself!)

Paper plates, bowls, plastic cups, napkins/paper towels, and plastic utensils

Large tubs for ice -- somebody please bring ice.

A grill and propane tank (plus oven and large microwave in the kitchen)

Two tables and a few chairs

Two popup canopies (if needed) in addition to the covered patio.
balam

Celeste,
I can bring ~10 chairs if needed.
Let me know Smile
noexcuse4you

I shall bring some bomb diggity pasta salad.
Celeste

Oscar:  chairs good!
Kyle:  pasta salad rocks!
ogershok

I WILL be making it to this BBQ after all. I'll bring something from the local deli. Maybe chicken. Also, if anyone likes hot chilies I'll bring some of my homegrown.

For the curious - most of the peppers I grew this year are rocotos. I'll definitely be bringing some of these.

No problemo -- I think there will be plenty of food.  Or you can pick up something on the way if you feel like it.  (Bring some sodas or something else to drink).
Mad Hatter

I'll bring:

the aforementioned cookies ,

1 B. vagans sling for the host. Thank you Celeste for saving the BBQ! ,

Donations for the raffle:

1 juvie Emperor scorpion

1 Brachypelma vagans sling (1 inch legspan? I'm not good with estimating legspan)

(can I just leave them in their current containers?)

Hello thanks in advance for the cookies and the raffle donations.

Sure you can leave them in their enclosures, just make sure to mark them so we know what they are.

Haggis.
What

I will prolly be at the BBQ... But late. I have to be up at the Prado Basin for a class field trip(Nat. History of CA), but I am not sure what time yet.

Not sure what I can bring, but I am very open to ideas.(Not something too expensive, but it doesnt have to be dirt cheap.)

My grandfather grows chilies and they are extremely hot. if anyone is interested i can bring some of these. but there is a warning one of the guys i work with ate one and he cant eat spicy food anymore. i only know of 4 people that can pick one up and just eat it like that.

I'd like a couple both to cook with and to save for seed. I can't eat them straight but I use them in cooking and salsa. We can swap.
MUD

Well i do not eat these things. way tooo hot it was my punishment growing up. they would make me take a bite. i will get you some if i do go. but i have given them to people and they have grown them but they say they are no where near as hot as the originals.

No worries there!

Beer was picked up an hour ago.  I'm bringing the good ol' Windansea Hefeweizen I normally bring, plus a special release for September: Belgian Trippel.  The latter has a 9.0% abv.

The big hookah pipe I usually bring is not in working order.  Instead, I'll be bringing my personal pipe, as well as a friend's pipe.  They each only have one hose, but I do have a shload of mouth covers for the squeamish.

Oops... I put off baking the cookies so... I won't have any baked goodies to bring.

Sorry for being such a procrastinator.  Embarassed

If anyone can think of anything last minute I could pick up food-wise to help out, I'll get it en route.
Steven

Celeste.. how'd it turn out?
Hope uall had a great time!
Celeste

It was great fun (as usual)!  Sorry you and Mad Hatter couldn't make it.

Glad it all turned out despite (edit:oops inspite(not a word but it would help:http://www.elearnenglishlanguage.com/difficulties/despiteinspiteof.html --ogershok? ) the shaky start.  Cool

Had to "finish" up some major projects    ....but, good news is... our pool is filled! ...filter/pump system rigged up and functioning.   Flagstone surrounds the pool ...99% done and at least mostly non-tripable/safe.
\Also spent the last couple weeks spare time laying in a flagstone path/steps up through the front yard ...this turned out to be a major job.

my house is getting there...for proper entertainment/party use.    Laughing  Wink
What

Now I kinda wish I had stopped by to bug you. Congrats on getting it finished up!
