M. velvetosoma enclosureWell, these are the enclosures for the M. velvetosoma pair I keep.
Female I
Enclosure:
The girl: (notice anything else in the picture?)
I've had the remaining pair of Opiliones in this set-up for about a week now, I had originally put three in there, but one of them mysteriously disappeared .
Close Up:
This enclosure (I hope) will yield some good things, I have some crickets in there, as well as some small millipedes, Isopods and even a 2" centipede -he will not grow anymore-, these are incredibly small pinheads
Female II
Enclosure:
different angle:
Both of the girls are in dire need of a molt, they will just be stunning when they do (though they are lookers even at this point )
I know I have different shots but couldn't find them, I'll see about getting some some other day :p

Thanks Matt, I can't wait for the girls to molt and show off some red booty
The second enclosure also has a breeding pair of P. johnsoni living in there, hough they haven't been seen for a couple of days now.

how humid do you keep the enclosures for the MV's???

They were low 80's after a bit of flooding, but I let it go down to mid 60's after that. At first I had them as high as 80%, (like I said I flooded one entire side). On a hot day like today I like to mist the enclosure and bring the humidity up to ~87-90.
It dies down slowly and remains around 80%. for a couple of days.

Dude I think you wanted the male at PP??? Bad news, someone came in and traded a male B. smithi for it .. (I would have said no, but one of the managers that doesn't like that I have come in and set up a huge T dept. told the staff not to call me about it, "they're not his spiders..") So....
Heres a pic of my girl from last night..

Looks like you keep yours a little drier than mine. I have added moss & cork to a lot of my tropicals.

The top soil is in fact drier, I don;t know if you can read the gauge but humidity had dropped to ~70%.
All the soil beneath is very humid, as soon as temp goes up (heat pad underneath) the humidity rises somewhat steadily to ~80-85%.
Plus I like to mist on the mornings, the screen top allows for a fine mist to fall through and dampen the top soil, kind of like a morning mist/shower.
The wolf in there molted yesterday evening... grew a little
