Malaysian Cherry Redi found my cherry red has a clutch of eggs. i don't really know how long she has had them so hatch date could be sooner than i think.i wonder how many eggs they lay.

Scolopendra subspinipes subspecies seem to hover around 60-130 eggs per decent clutch

hey man
i can't get on t.us for some reason. i did see your message in my mail though
basically there are two schools of though to feeding a mom with eggs.
do
don't
the do school says it is better to keep her from getting hungry and eating the eggs by feeding her. i have fed right about half of the brooding moms i have had. once the mom ate the eggs, but it was a bluering leg and they might be more nervous than most.... all the other times i fed the mom nothing bad happened
the don't school says it is better to let the mom go w/o food the whole time. i have done this about half the time i have had brooders. i have had one non-fed mom eat her eggs, that i am aware of/can recall
so... really, it seems about even as far as effect for me. i would say if your mom is really well fed already you might wait and maybe feed her a good PREKILLED meal in about a month and that is the only time you feed her. all my mom's that weren't fed did fine without eating for the 2-3 months they were brooding
incidentily nymphs can eat when they are still all white. they will feed on stuff the mom bags
hope this helps

Hello,
I think that not having the right environment conditions is the cause of the mom eating the youngs, after all mom knows best about how,and when to bring youngs into this world.
In my experience I never fed the few moms on eggs.
Sc heros castaniceps
Sc subpinipes sp "Solomon islands"
Just my opinion.

unless shes stressed, she should leave the eggs alone..also she'll know if they are bad or if pedelings are in the near future......feeding a her is a dont IMO..it tends to stress out the pede...just my 2cents , only cuzz i have done both. with only one good result...
