Will there be a grill? If so, I'll bring some dead things. But since I'm poor again, it'll have to be inexpensive dead things (like chicken + BBQ sauce). (And no -- NOT the chicken in the coop out back!)

Well, since people seemed to like my pasta salad last time, I think I'll make it again!

Note on the Beer Braised Beef:
Budget in fact is a little tight as well so don't expect a full cow... it will be more gourmet at a fancy restaurant size.

I already said I'd bring chicken. But I need to know if there will be a grill available or not. If not, I can bring fried chicken from Ralph's or something.

In addition to the pickled eggs I'll also bring Blood Pickles. Don't bother asking. Try them at the BBBQ and find out.

These aren't Vulcan Blood Pickles. More like the Guatemalan kind. No mammals had to die to make them. (they got pretty woozy for a while though . . .)

O.K. -- lemme think about it. I may just bring stuff that's already cooked so I don't have to mess with the grill.

You mean the "Edible Tarantula Hide" wasn't proof enough that some members of Scabies are pretty artistic with the grill? !

Several hundred guests at the BBQ asked me to post the recipes for the eggs and pickles so here goes:
Jalepeno Pickled Eggs.
Hardboil two dozen eggs. Put into a gallon jar. Drain the juice from two large cans (26oz) of peppers and save the juice. Add the peppers to the jar. Add an equal volume of white vinegar to the pepper juice plus a half cup of sugar. Dump onto the eggs and peppers. If you need more liquid to cover the eggs add half vinegar and water. If you don't know how to mix vinegar and water ask your wife or girlfriend. Let stand refrigerated for at least a week. Now trick your friends into eating them.
Guatemalan Blood Pickles.
Buy a 48oz jar of cheap dill pickles. Drain the juice and save it. To the juice add two envelopes of unsweetened Kool-Aid and a half cup of sugar. Slice the pickles in half so they absorb the juice quicker. Put the pickles back in the jar and pour the juice mix over them and discard any juice that doesn't fit in the jar. Kill four hamsters and drain their . . . no, wait, skip that last part. Let stand in the fridge for at least a week, two weeks is better. Cherry or Black Cherry Kool-Aid works best but strawberry or lemon-lime isn't too bad either. If you use lemon-lime then change the name to Vulcan Blood Pickles.
