MARCH BBQOk folks,There seem to be a lack of volunteers for another BBQ, and although it is understandable that times are hard (especially now), I would like to ask if everyone would be willing to make this a shared hosting experience. At some point someone asked if we could put this together at a park...well, why not? Let's all get together and bring our bugs and food like we do at any other BBQ, we can bring folding canopies and even propane heaters (if anybody has any) Lacy Park in the city of San Marino seems willing to allow us to bring our critter friends along but I still have to speak with Ron S. the park manager since we ARE bringing bugs, and HE may not be too receptive to the idea. It wouldn't really be a BBQ (NO OPEN FLAMES ALLOWED), but we can bring pre-cooked meals. (Google Lacy Park, or click on the link) http://www.ci.san-marino.ca.us/lacy.htm Since we are a group of 15+ we will need to fill in a form, I can pay for the fee (  ), but we would need to get a date in march in order for me to fill the application.
So what do you all think? We can play futbol, football, frisbee, or many more activities, IT'S A PARK so your imagination is the limit!!!! |

If it's on the 20-24 I can't make it.
Ealier in the month would be great. That's not that far from me. If people don't like the park I might be able to host. Although it is very close to the last BBQ. |

Another down side to having at a park is the no alchohol rule that most if not all parks have. | ||||

Anyhow, I have left another message for Ron S. but I haven{t gotten a response. I would love to host at my house but will not be able to so it as of yet. Unless Raul sees this post and answers it (to know if its possible or not) we won't know where it will be held. Celeste has been kind enough to offer her home once again, it would be up to her to let us know when we would be able to do it. THank you everyone for your input. |

I think I would need it to be no earlier than mid-March (so mid- to late-March) to give me time to clean this place up (you think I'm kidding!), and I probably have a mild preference for a Sunday, but other than that I'm flexible. Let's wait to hear back from Raul first. (And if anyone else wants to volunteer to host it, feel free! I don't mind hosting, but don't have any overwhelming need to!) If we don't hear back from Raul in the next week or so (or if no one else volunteers in that time period) I'll post a poll to see what day people prefer. | ||||

I just talked to Raul and He said that he would have it @ his house. he also said that the first or second Saturday of March are the days he can host it. I'll post up a poll and see which day works best for you.

Not too far man. I drive from here to Long Beach every so often and it usually takes 40-45 min. It's better without traffic though

Check out this section every once in a while, you will find that more ppl get interested as the date comes closer. You shall soon find a food thread added, there ppl post what food they will be bringing, you don't actually have to bring something, it all depends, but if you can it really helps.
