Thiscordia and a skink i caught to look at and then release.  Thiscordia has a 2.5-3"/6-8cm millipede in his hand. Millipede could be Hiltonius pulchrus,  Tylobolus claremontus, or maybe Atopetholus californicus or maybe even something else.

i think i have an idea of where to find T. claremontus =P

actually,  maybe i don't.  if it really was a place name it would have an -ensis ending

that might actually meansomething like "bright mountain" or "clear mountain" come to thin kof it

Athopetholus californicus ?

Hello,
There are 3 species in So Cali that exceeds the 3" size
Hiltonious pulchrus
Tylobolus claremontus

Or a third species that reaches the 2" mark
Athopetholus californicus = A angelus

I know -- but that's still a 2-3" critter.  Very impressive!  All I ever see around my yard are tiny 1" ones.
