My avatarWhy would a person have a dead animal's head hanging on a wall for an avatar? That's disgusting!!! It's a reminder of my not-so-happy and less than innocent childhood when in moments of alienation and terror I would slip down to the basement to my "laboratory" and do what any adolescent missfit does. Taxidermy. This was my best deerhead. A neighbor shot it and had me mount it for him. I was sixteen. I'm thinking of having the image done as a tattoo. "Bone things" seemed like the best place to put this.

interesting. do you still do taxidermy? what about bone work? like making skeletons that are all stood up and connected and stuff

Nope, haven't done any work like that in a long time. When I retire I'm probably going to get back into it to some degree. The local Asian market that we've discussed before would be a great source of fish to practice on. I'd also LOVE to have my own freeze dryer.

thats pretty cool, we know back in the 30's you wernt looked down upon for such torturios activites of stuffing dead animals......

Arrgghh. I have 4 1/2 years to go before I retire. But when I do, I'm going to be really good at it.
