My first Scorp... I LOvE IT!

Well I have to thank Eric for this one, cool little guy... I have to say I wasn't as interested in scorpions before but the more I look at them the more I want to get other sp.

I believe this to be Smeringurus mesaensis, (must be the yellowish kind from California) it was mentioned to me that it was a "Dune Scorpion", Love to see him dig, he dug exit tunnels from underneath his little cave (two pieces of cork bark resting against each other)

Thanks again Eric!

I didn't get to enjoy mine for very long, it died on Tuesday morning. I wake up at 10am to check on everyone (As I do everyday) and he was all spread out like he was dead. I thought he was faking it at first, but he wasn't  Sad

He was cool, when I brought him home he started digging. I did get some pictures of him though!

I got some more "redder ones" and one more generation and hopefully they'll be completly red...or at least red dipped. Heres what I started with.

That one just had red claws and tails....but the pictures dont do justice to the darker coloration I guess I need a real  camera.

Wow. You can tell there is a tonal difference between the body and claws of the scorpion. Way to go man !
