All 3 of them together:
Cleo the Leopard Gecko (this is the only good thing that I got from Prehistoric pets. Owner was turning her in while I was getting crickets and I fell in love with her).

AAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sweet doggies and gecko and horsie! Is that a Quarter Horse?
Here is my $5000 dog, Mikki:
(... long story!)
And a couple of the elderly Weiner Dogs:
(I was fostering for Dachshund Rescue for several years, taking in the old and sick ones that they thought they might not be able to place).
My son has a Leopard Gecko, too (named "Salomer") that was left on our doorstep when we first moved into this house. I later found out it was left by a mom down the street who had threatened her son that the gecko would go away if he didn't take proper care of it. But she didn't leave a note or anything!

Awww cute weiner dogs! Min Pins have Weiner dogs in them!
The horse is an American Paint Horse. His Dam (mom) was a palomino Quarter horse and his sire is a brown paint horse.

GizmoGizmo was an actual abuse case. He has a burn mark on his back that never will grow hair. He was turned into a rescue group with the burn marks and he had cuts all over him.

Oh my gosh! People make me sick sometimes. My min pin P-Nut was also a rescue. He was found in a dumpster behind my husbands old work with two other puppies, one had already died. He had a big wound on his back, but not sure what it was from. Could have been rat bite. Some people should really not have pets. Or children for that matter.

AWWW. your poor guy! I am so glad you have him now! I feel sorry for the other one that died = ( People are sick in the head and I will never understand the reason for abuse. People always say "that does not shock me" or "that does not surprise me." Well, you know what, it does surprise and shock me each and every time.
Well, at least there are people like us to take them in!
Good for you!

Yeah -- both of the Dachsies you see in that picture have bad scars and "dents" from some kind of trauma. The one under the blanket is Angel, and he used to be TERRIFIED of my feet (like if I walked past him or tried to step over him). So someone must have kicked him in the past. His right shoulder is kind of "dented", and he used to just yelp loudly for no apparent reason and I think it was some kind of old injury hurting him. The one with his back to the camera is Sparky, and he has a small "dent" in his skull and one on his neck, and lots of scars on his head... I can't imagine what happened to him. He is my "happy dog", whose tail never stops wagging. I think he is just happy to be loved and cared for, and to have soft, warm blankets to sleep on and plenty of good food to eat. He will lick you to death if you stand still! I don't know how old Sparky is, but I've had him for 5 years, and I estimated he was *at least* 12 or 14 when I got him, so he has to be 17 or 18 or thereabouts now. His little face is totally white now, and he is missing most of his teeth.
And I had one named Max whose story took me several pages to write out, it was so heartbreaking. He had been so badly tormented that he was literally "psycho" when I got him, but within a couple of years became the sweetest, most trusting little dog. He died last year at the age of about 16 (I had him for about 4 years). I felt so honored to have earned that little dog's trust... There was the time a few weeks after I first got him that he piddled outside on his own and when he came back inside I praised him and petted him and told him he was a good boy and he looked at me with an amazed and puzzled look on his face like no one had ever told him that before... And another time a few weeks after that he tried to give me a Dachsie "love nibble", and then cringed as if he was afraid I was going to hit him for it... it just broke my heart. Every little milestone with "Max-attacks" was so cherished. And it warms my heart to know that in the last years of his life he finally knew what it felt like to be loved... at least I could give him that.
I'll take a "special needs" dog any day -- the rewards are just so great.
Bless both of you, Christy and Denise, for your kindness and compassion! P-nut and Gizmo are very lucky pups indeed!

I know what you mean Celeste. It is so rewarding to see an abused or neglected animal blossom with the right care. Yesterday I got all excited that my MBS Bearded Dragon finally pooped on her own (with no warm water soak and belly massage). My son's friend thinks I'll totally insane having a party over lizard poop. But hey, eating and pooping are two very good signs! It's so good to be able to talk with other people like you guys who honestly care and don't view these guys as "disposable". We are currently looking for a dog friend for P-Nut, but it's hard because he has never really liked other dogs. We're hoping to come across that special one that just clicks if we just keep visiting the shelter.

Are you looking for another Min-pin? If so, have you tried Min-pin rescue groups? They might be better at finding a compatible friend for P-nut, since they evaluate the dogs' personalities.
Plus, doggies just aren't *themselves* in the shelter environment.
(Not that I'm trying to talk you out of saving a life at the shelter!)
And CONGRATULATIONS ON THE LIZARD POOP! ;-) So it looks like she's going to make it (your Beardie)? I have two rescue Prehensile-Tailed Skinks (Corucia). Here are "before" and "after" shots of one of them:
BEFORE:
AFTER:
(Yup -- that's the same lizard in both shots). He's a real "pistol" now! He has gotten his girlfriend pregnant and everything! ;-)
I named him "Osiris", after the Egyptian god who rose from the dead.

Wow What a difference. good job on the skink! I love the name as well.
I am not looking for another min pin-3 is enough right now. I went through IMPS but they did not have anything. I agree, I love rescue groups. I got Penny and Gizmo from different rescue groups. Gizmo is my worst case but he trusts me completely now.
It sounds like we have a great group of people with big hearts that are willing to rescue.
Kudos to all of you!

Christy,
Some min pins just never will allow another buddy. Other breeds can be the same way but Min Pins are very territorial. I have been lucky. He may need a female but I am not sure how he would feel about being dominated all the time. Female min pins are very pushy and dominant.
You can try the following:
www.petfinder.com-I found Penny and gizmo through this.
http://www.minpinrescue.org/ IMPS-They will screen you like crazy but they are nice people. I passed so I am sure you will not have any trouble because you own a min pin and know how they can be. You can go and meet a potential "buddy" for P-Nut. They can also meet your dog and find a mate that they think would work best rather than going to the shelter and hoping for the best. IMPS does get dogs from the shelter as well as from owner turn ins but they have had time to assess personality, habits, etc (Just like Celeste said)...check out their website and see what you think!
Good luck! and congrats on the Beardie Poopie!

I wouldn't be opposed to another minpin, but I don't think that will be P-Nut's "soul-mate". He needs someone way more easy going who will be okay with him being the boss. The only two dogs he's ever met whome he didn't hate were female mini Aussies, but I don't know if that means he likes the breed. We're just gonna go slow, go to some events and see what he thinks. We are in some ways getting a dog for our dog. He is very fond of other animals. His best friend was a rat named Jonnie, but as you know, rats don't live very long. In his grief, he has latched onto Nigel the male Beardie, but Nigel can only take so much of him! If we can't find him a dog, we're going to adopt a couple guinea pigs for him (cuz they live a little longer than rats).
