If you have one now then I suggest you hold on to it, I know a few people that cant find work.
What kind of work do you do?

I once tried moonlighting as a stripper...

I am an assistant manager at an automotive shop. but i have been here for 4 years and i am sick of it, my manager and especially the owner. too much work not enough pay. and there is way too much drama here.
oh and thanks for the suggestion balam but when i did that people would always follow me home and stand out my windows it was really creepy so i moved and stopped moonlighting it.

Now you've gone and done it Mud. Daves really sensitive about his name! The correct spelling and stuff is "Ogershok" and he'll probably poke fun of you for spelling beat like the vegetable beet...

|
Hey Oscar, If that was back in college then how come you sent me that invite to the toolshead to see you perform last week??
|
WBurke17
|
Hey Dave if you want them to spell and say your name right you should have your "O" capital on your screen name....

Yeah, you're right, but those dang things are case-sensitive and all of my other log-ins are spelled in lower case like that. It saves me having to remember so many things. At my age that's a distinct advantage.

I did a little stripping way back, but they made me do a drug test and I got fired.
er..oh wait.. maybe that was when I was teaching. ...oh..shoot..now Im all confused ...jeez did I get fired for public exposer during class? ok... yeh.. i recall now. nevermind.
but anyway, the economy is bad news and even strippers have had to (edit) tighten their belts...i mean so to speak... you know ...anyway, right now its actually cheaper for one to keep a girl/boy friend than to go out and pay for sexual activities/entertainment.
So..if stripping is something you're considering..i would strongly recommend avoiding the sexual entertainment job/meat market and head strait* into leeching. Invest your new freetime into the search for a rich lover and then do your job like your bills depend on it. Me, i wasnt even good lookin enough for teaching, let alone leeching.

You guys are way too funny.
If you want to walk the extra mile:
Go talk to Heidi Fleiss and she could probably get you into her venue in NV... all female clientele.... unless you are looking for something different, then talk to her partner Joe Richards.
Some resources..... jut in case.
Hey Celeste, at the risk of sounding crass, I do recall some interesting pics of belly dancing...
I'm sure more than one of my fellow boys have been just waiting in line for debut night

You missed debut night by four years, but I'll let you know next time I do a public performance (but don't hold your breath -- it takes a lot of rehearsals to do a show, and I'm WAY too busy these days!) But I do have that debut performance on DVD...

You are too kind Celeste. ...and let us know when the DVD screening party is?
I better get on that diet though 'coz if Chippendale's calls, I'm closer to looking like Chris Farley nowadays than I do Patrick Swayze (for those who have seen that classic SNL skit).

What

I actually really could use a job... Cant find anyone hiring around my area.

What kind of work are you looking for? (What do you enjoy, and what are you good at?)
There seems to be more work in Orange County than up here.
|
What
|
Most anything other than fast food and retail... I have mostly been looking into desktop technician jobs and other tech related jobs.
The only jobs I have even heard mentioned lately were seasonal ones at local stores...

You can also try just walking into businesses you like and asking to speak to a hiring manager and giving them a copy of your resume. Tell them you just thought you'd check with them because you enjoy doing business with them (tell them why you think their business is so great). People are impressed by gumption with manners, and love to hear good things about their business even if they don't have any jobs available. We once hired a kid for the summer out of the blue because he did his homework and found out who the hiring supervisor was and what our group did, and sent us a sincere letter explaining why he wanted to work for us and what he could do to help us. We were so impressed with his honesty and sincerity and chutzpah and the fact that he went to all that trouble to zero in on our group that we said "sure!"
