New Beardie

Well, those who were at the BBQ know I came home with a little Beardie!! Smile

Wil, thank you so much for my cute little dragon. She's adorable and I'm already crazy about her. It might be a while before she has a name because it takes me FOREVER to name my little kids!

I am a little concerned because I have not been able to get her to eat today. I've left her with meal worms, small crickets and a plate of tiny veggies. She hasn't touched a thing. She has refused food even when I try to hand feed her crickets or worms also. Do you think it could be related to having such a long day yesterday? She did have one huge (for a little BD) poopie. I'm just concerned about her going too long without eating since she's still so little. Any thoughts, ideas?

I also forgot to ask you approx how old she is. She has a nice house with UVA/UVB lighting and a ceramic heating element. I am keeping her on paper towels until she is bigger. I don't want her to get impacted with sand.

Let me know what else I need to do to stimulate her appetite.

Thanks,

Jules

hello Jules, I think your dragon is still adapting on its new environment. I'm sure she will eat later on, just give her some time to adjust. also you can view my set up on this thread http://scabies.myfreeforum.org/about2363.html

I hope i answer your question, give me some update about her. take care

The vet told me that too many "crunchy" insects can cause impactions too.  You might try some soft-bodied goodies like wax worms, silkworms, or butterworms.  I also feed my sick girl the "white" just-molted roach nymphs.  She thinks they're yummy.  Good luck, I hope she eats for you soon!

My little Beardie is doing really well. She started eating on Monday. She likes me to handfeed her like you told me. She is eating wax worms, meal worms and veggies. I'll try some just molted dubia tomorrow. She looks so tiny in her big house. I know she'll need a bigger house when she gets bigger but for now it's like a huge kingdom for her.

I'll get some pics up soon. I am still working on computer stuff and have another agility trial around the corner that I am way behind on also because of all the computer problems.

She's so cute! I'm crazy about her!

Thanks so much Wil.  Very Happy
