Have you tried handling her yet??? What's her personality like? :-)

HEllo All,
I tried but she was too nervous from the trip.
She seems calm, and she is little, so I think there should be no problem with her walking around someones hand.

I can't wait to meet her! And I can't wait until she gets some blue on her. :-)
She has a nice, round booty -- looks like a healthy girl. ;-)

Hey Francisco, does it look like it's in pre-molt at all?
She sure is nice.

I got to hold her for a few seconds yesterday -- she seems timid (which is what you'd expect from a juvenile) but not at all aggressive. Very cool little T! (And not nearly as deranged as the baby regalises!)
BTW: Francisco and I pooled our resources to get her -- maybe you guys could consider doing the same and getting another female. If we are able to get a male in a couple of months, then we could work out a breeding loan in the future. Think about it! I would love to see a bunch of these in the scabies "family", and us breeding them together. :-)

I am hoping to get one with the GBB funds. One of them will molt into second instar any day now!
How much did you pay for her if you guys don't mind?

Hello All,
Kyle you are funny
Celeste and I paid 475 for her, Paul has a few more at this size that were sexed females.
I think we were able to sexed a 1.3.2 so there are plenty left I think.

She was $450 plus $25 shipping from Paul Bollinger (BayouSurreal). Here's the relevant ad:

Well, it would have been better if we could have gotten an adult female. By the time this little girl is grown up, Francisco's male will be long gone, and we will have to buy another male.

Hello All,
Wayne, no deal would have been better than yours.
Do let me know when you need my guy, OK.
Celeste is right my little guy is going to be history by the time she gets older.

Hey Francisco, I never did ask you, how big is your male?

Here's a little update: I think she molted soon after the BBQ, because she looks like she's about 3" now.
This picture doesn't do her justice because you can't see how blue her legs are. But she is so timid, this is the best shot I could get of her before she vanished back into her little cave.

A beauty indeed
She's got that little cave webbed up nicely
|
Celeste

Yeah -- fortunately, it's one of those reptile hide rocks with the magnets so I can remove the portion outside of the terrarium glass and peek into her little cave any time I want to check on her. Unfortunately, there's no way to get her out without destroying her web. Francisco had asked for one of her molts, but they are deep inside her "cave", and I can't get them out without destroying her webbing. Maybe I'll do that at some point (if Francisco wants the exuvia badly enough).
But she's eating like a champ right now!
