November BBBQDISCLAIMER:
IFF (If and only If) it is raining in Glendale, CA 91206 on November 17, 2007, the BBBQ will have to be postponed. I absolutely need the use of my backyard for this event. Andrew very graciously offered the use of a giant tarp/tent thing, but my mother vetoed the idea. It's her house, her rules, quite unfortunately. Heheh.....
I don't think it's going to rain, and ven if it's cold, jackets will fix that. Rain is the only way that the event can possibly be canceled/postponed.
So, keep your eyes on the weather!!!
OKAY......
BBBQ/Bug Potluck (aka Bugluck) is on November 17th.
My address is:
1448 Belleau Rd.
Glendale, CA 91206
My cell phone number is:
(818) 395-6684
THERE IS A RAFFLE
Prizes range from little slings and scorps, to a large tank and a live snake!
Tickets are $1.50 each.
-8 tickets for $10
-18 tickets for $20
-29 tickets for $30
-Etc....
All proceeds go towards SCABIES
Make sure to bring cash, because once you see what we have for raffle, you might not be able to resist!!!.....(please donate prizes for the raffle, ::lol::)
Don't worry, I am in charge of the money (that's my real-life job anyway, heh)
Every group/family gets 1 ticket free upon arrival.
Remember: This is a weighted raffle, which means that not all items are raffled immediately. Certain items will be raffled once we have sold a certain number of tickets.
For example: We wouldn't want to raffle off a $30 spider if we have only sold $15 worth of tickets. Get it?
Ticket thresholds for all items will be discussed by myself and other SCABIES officers on the day of the BBBQ.
What I would ask of everyone, is that you bring something to donate to the raffle. This is the way raffles work!
-All prizes must be donated by members.
-A member cannot win the prize that they donated.
If enough items are donated (and I'm already donating a bunch!) then everyone will have a chance to win something cool!
This is kind of like a cool way to trade at random, except that we're earning money for SCABIES.

Okay.......
BBBQ is on Saturday, November 17th
I was gonna wait till later to announce the date.......because I thought I needed more time to figure it out.......(since it's 2 days after my birthday and all......)
But, I decided, that instead of having a birthday party with my family , loved ones, and lifetime friends...........I'm going to host the BBBQ on that Saturday, with serial killers, Monster addicts, Bi-homosexuals (Crash and Twirl), and some dangerous bugs.
Wow, I am just too cool for words.
More details to come......but for now, just mark your calendars!

BBBQ/Bug Potluck (aka Bugluck) is on November 17th.
I'd like to run the festivity in a potluck style.......(everyone brings something to contribute)
People can bring both edible and non-edible materials (none of these things include the inverts you'll be bringing)
I absolutely INSIST that any non-consumable materials be RECYCLEABLE
Luckily, the city of Glendale has become much more eco-friendly, and can now recycle a MUCH wider variety of plastics and Christmas trees than ever before.
(Here's a LINK to the City of Glendale's recyclable materials.)
This mainly applies to things like plates (preferably paper), utensils (the usual plastic ones shouldn't be a problem), and cups (paper or recyclable plastic preferred, no styrofoam please).
I'm going to make a list of stuff, and I urge you to claim what you will! Just make a post stating what you'll bring. Also, if there's anything I'm missing...just shout out and let me know (mods can just edit this original post).
Non-Consumables (all recyclable):
1) Plates
2) Cups and/or Drinks (Canned drinks are fine too)
3) Utensils
Consumables:
1) Appetizers (eg. Chips, Dip, Salsa, Maggots, Calamari, etc.)
2) Main Entrée (eg. chili, hot dogs, dead puppies, chili with dead puppies in it........we are not limited to one here guys, we can have more than one kind)
3) Dessert - NESHAN - I'm putting myself in charge of this. Don't worry, my mom makes a BOMB Tres Leches. You will not be disappointed. Anyone lactose intolerant??? Then I suggest you bring your own dessert.
Any serve-ware needed (trays, pans, ladles, giant spoons for serving, etc) can be provided by my household, unless you wish to bring your own.
We DO own a gas grill. But, like I said before...I don't know what the weather will be like.
We DO own a full kitchen.
Boy, I hope we have nice weather, because my backyard is perfect for this.
Okay, start claiming your responsibilities! And, let me know if I've forgotten something.
And now for the grand finale...................
I'll be turning 21 on the 15th (just two days before!).........
And guess what..........
The booze is my treat, so make your requests!
(don't go overboard )

Of course!!!
That's actually a major part of this event!
I'm going to have some stuff to sell/raffe/give away.
There will hopefully be a lot of trading going on.
Also, we will be raffling off Cyclosternum fasciatum slings, since we'll be getting lots of extras.
I know a few people who might appreciate roach cultures and baby scorps, so bring all you can!!!

The one's with question marks are the ones I'm not sure about, or who have not made an absolute confirmation. Basically, they are the ones who have shown an interest, but have not confirmed their presence yet.
The ones with a +1 or +2 or +3 are guests they are bringing.
Confirmed guests:
1. Neshan (nbond)
2. Andrew (cacoseraph)
3. Earl (earl)
4. Warren (wburke)+3(???)
5. Eddy (abyss) +Adrian
6. Eric (crash)
7. Paul (ronin)
8. Johnny (johnnyster)
9. Francisco (ftorres)
10. David (oger)
11. Raul (thiscordia)
12. Jules (jules) + Kassie (insane4Ts)
Not sure:
13. David (twirl) ???
14. Steven (buthus) ???
15. wr3sd ???
Am I missing anyone, or have I posted any incorrect information???

Count me in for the BBQ!!
It will definately be me and my niece (Kassie/Insane4T's)
Do you guys want me to bring plates and utensils? Cups? Napkins?
i've got the plates and cups covered but does anyone know where i can get styrofoam utensils and/or napkins??
Nesh, just let me know closer to the date approximately how many people will be coming so i bring enough. Actually i guess i can check in here too.
i can't think of a food item at the moment. i'll check with Kass when she gets home from school. She's the cook anyway so i'll see what she wants to make. She's a pretty awesome 12 year old!!

this all sounds great!
Just make sure the plates and cups are recyclable (paper or plastic).
i assume that you meant plastic utensils? you can get these at any grocery store......but I'll have to check my stock, we might have enough here at the house.
Well, it looks like we'll be having lots of people, so there's no such thing as too much food!!!
I'll make a list of people and what food they are bringing, closer to the event.

i just remembered i have a B.A.T. (Big Ass Tarp) that we could probably cover a large portion of a backyard with to increase area in case of rain

ah, how thoughtless of me.
well, we do have a few large trees surrounding our yard.....
with enough rope, children, and dead puppies, I'm sure that we could find a way to fashion a tent out of it.

chances are, it won't rain. but you never know.

the lack of structural integrity and tensile strength of dead puppies is well known in the red neck world. you would know that if you were really white, nesh.
i'm thinking i should bring that tarp even if/especially if it is sunny. use it for shade.
also... i'm thinking that 2000sqft is probably a little bigger than the tarp actually is. you know how i get when i am eyeball measuring things. the tarp weighs like 20-30lbs though... it *is* a big sucker... just maybe not quite *that* big

20. Scott (Scott C.)
TOTAL= 20
Not-so-sure buggers:
21. David (twirl) ???
22. Steven (buthus) ???
Here is the food/supplies/contributions list:
Appetizers/Entrees:
Johnny- Charro Beans
Caco- Sweedish Meatballs
David (ogershok)- Pickled Eggs
Eddy- Arroz and Mole (bring lots of mole!!!!! And how about tortilla chips???)
Warren (wr3sd)- Tortillas
Kassie (insane4Ts)- ??? Hasn't told me yet ???
David (DavidRS)- CHILI!!! OMGZZZ!!!! YAY!!!!
Dessert:
Neshan (nbond1986)- my mom makes great Tres Leches
(please feel free to bring ice cream or cookies, or something, if you would like. Just let me know!)
By the way, is anyone lactose intolerant?
Drinks:
Warren (wr3sd)- enough drinks for everyone
DRINKS ARE COVERED
Any booze requests? My treat!
Supplies:
Jules- Cups and plates
Utensils- ??? (I'm almost tempted to have each person bring their own fork, spoon, and knife, to save on unnecessary plastic usage....what do you think???)
Napkins- ???
So far, it looks like we'll be having about 30 people
We need to keep in mind that we want to feed all these people, right?
So, what I would suggest, is that for every meal, I would bring enough to feed a family. If all of the appetizer/entree people, each bring enough food for about 5 people, we should be covered....I think.
What do you guys think? Sounds good?

uuughhh.....
here's the story.
i had strep throat about 2 or 3 weeks ago, and the antibiotics took care of it.
it was gone for over a week, and then today.....i get the symptoms again.....
an aching throat, and spotted tonsils.....a bacterial infection.
so, im on antibiotics again.....and apparently, i need to get my tonsils removed ASAP
Sooooo.....I'm DEFINITELY going to try to schedule the surgery AWAY from the BBBQ.
like I said before....the ONLY thing that is messing this BBBQ up....is RAIN. no surgery is going to stop me from enjoying this BugBBQ!!!

i can also bring napkins with the plates and cups.
Let me know what you want to do about the utensils. i was only teasing you about looking for styrofoam supplies earlier.
As far as utensils - if i bring my own, i will be bringing plastic for myself anyway because i don't want to risk forgetting the good stuff from home. At least you can recycle it...
i'll have Kassie think up one or two dishes she wants to make and bring when she gets home from school today.

I'm definitely going to have surgery.
The question is....WHEN.....
So far, the scheduling looks pretty good.
All of the available surgery days, give the BBBQ plenty of clearance.
So far, so good.
I'll either have the surgery this week (enough time to recover), or right after the BBBQ.
SO FAR, SO GOOD!!!!

Yes, I will be there. Yes, I'll make the goddamned chili. Yes, I will dispose of any bodies. Wait, make that dispose of bodies, then make chili. It also sounds like I'll need to bring in some additional Astroglide and Anal Ease.

Remember guys, I'm old. Really old. I'm going to be wearing "Depends" and there's no guarantee they'll be fresh.

I have no doubt at all that I am the oldest SCABIES member. I have been working full time before most of you were just a filthy thought in your father's mind. Maybe I'll even bring my colonoscopy pictures to the BBBQ.

It won't be me, I can smell entrapment miles away.
I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised that SCABIES has the most diverse group of pervs & deviates in the known world. I think we cover the entire book, Krafft-Ebing's Psychopathia Sexualis with only about 50 members.

Okay, here's what we have so far:
Confirmed buggers:
1. Neshan (nbond)
2. Andrew (cacoseraph)
3. Earl (earl)
4. Warren (wburke)+3 maybe
5. Eddy (abyss) + Adrian
6. Eric (crash)
7. Paul (ronin)
8. Johnny (johnnyster)
9. Francisco (ftorres)
10. David (oger)
11. Raul (thiscordia)
12. Jules (jules)
13. Kassie (insane4Ts)
14. Warren (wr3sd)
15. Jacob (pulk)
16. Tabbie (TabbieNorton on ATS)
17. Chris (Krazy8s)
18. David (davidrs) .....YES!!! THIS MEANS AWESOME CHILI!!! DAVID IS A GOD!!! I LOVE DAVID!!!! WOOOOHOOOO!!!! (David did not pay me to say this.)(This message was brought to you by DavidisGod.com)
19. Anette (Anette) +1 guest maybe?
20. Scott (Scott C.)
TOTAL= 20
Not-so-sure buggers:
21. David (twirl) ???
22. Steven (buthus) ???
Here is the food/supplies/contributions list:
Appetizers/Entrees:
Johnny- Charro Beans
Caco- Sweedish Meatballs
David (ogershok)- Pickled Eggs
Eddy- Arroz and Mole (bring lots of mole!!!!! And how about tortilla chips???)
Warren (wr3sd)- Tortillas
Kassie (insane4Ts)- ??? Hasn't told me yet ???
David (DavidRS)- CHILI!!! OMGZZZ!!!! YAY!!!!
Dessert:
Neshan (nbond1986)- my mom makes great Tres Leches
(please feel free to bring ice cream or cookies, or something, if you would like. Just let me know!)
By the way, is anyone lactose intolerant?
Drinks:
Warren (wr3sd)- enough drinks for everyone
DRINKS ARE COVERED
Any booze requests? My treat!
Supplies:
Jules- Cups and plates
Utensils- ??? (I'm almost tempted to have each person bring their own fork, spoon, and knife, to save on unnecessary plastic usage....what do you think???)
Napkins- ???
So far, it looks like we'll be having about 30 people
We need to keep in mind that we want to feed all these people, right?
So, what I would suggest, is that for every meal, I would bring enough to feed a family. If all of the appetizer/entree people, each bring enough food for about 5 people, we should be covered....I think.
What do you guys think? Sounds good?

We're going to need a few tables.
Anyone got folding tables?

Also, I'd suggest people bring a beach chair each, JUUUUST in case.

Pickled egg previewOK folks, I started the pickled eggs the other night. By the 17th they should be ready. Really ready. The longer they sit the better they get. Assuming one doesn't totally screw up the spices. That's purple basil sprigs in the jar with little red tepin peppers from my own plant. Caution - pickled eggs may cause drowsiness. Actually the drowsiness is from the beer that they cause you to drink.

Woah!
Nice!
that looks like a perfect jar for a medium-big pede!
Can't wait to taste those pickled eggs! (the ones in the jar, not yours)
