Pamphobeteus sp Ecuador purple Mating attemp

Hello All,
I am helping Sam (Brachybaum) and Fred (STCruzan) with this breeding.
I have the pair at home.
Female is smaller than the male.

Here  some pics

Nothing happen again.
female is too young and not receptive, male is not active either, like he knows she is not ready.

Will try a couple more times.

Yeah, those are gorgeous!  Don't let my friend Jeanne know there are such things as purple tarantulas or she will want some!  ;-)
balam

yup... that is a colorful male allright Smile

These are the times I wish the eyesight of Ts were better.  She would truly appreciate him sporting his best purple threads for her (& baring his butt).  Smile

Oh wow, great pictures Francisco, too bad my female was feelin the male ::lol::, I wish she was ready but don't worry I'm gonna keep her until she is ready and we'll try again, I will not get rid of her, she is just gorgeous.  Thanks for you help my friend.

Francisco, the more I look at the male the more I'm beginning to realize he is not the right species.  He looks exactly like the Species 1 south ecuador but my female is species 2 ecaudorian purple.  I found a picture of a male sp. 2 like my female at

The picture on the link could be the same species as Fred's male but younger, to me doesn't seem like it.  Let me know what you think.

Oh wow!

Purple spiders! Awesome! Purple is one of my favorite colors. And how the hell did you manage to get 2 different but similar looking species?

Damn! No wonder it didn't work. But is it possible to get a male and female of different species to mate therefor making a whole new breed of tarantula? And has it been done or attempted before?

Would like to know as it sounds interesting.

brachybaum

Habibi18, by the way are you Chaldean/Middle Eastern?  I'm Chaldean and I know what habibi means.  Yes it is possible to cross breed 2 similar species(especially pamphobeteus), though inbreeding can cause difficulties with the animals offspring.  In the pamphobeteus genus the males are way more colorful than the females(for matings sake) they sometimes look like 2 different species.  It's too bad that my female was not mature yet and not receptive to the male but we'll try again.
Habibi18

*Laughs* No, I'm not ME. That's like the second or third time someone's asked me that. "Habibi" means love in Persian right? I had just seen the word somewhere and I liked so I made a username out of it. Razz

But I do know how to write in Arabic, and Korean ( cause it's my favorite language ). I love languages. And I thought that interbreeding was possible because I read about it somewhere. And I'm wishing you all the luck in the world that the next time you try and mate those 2 that they go for it.

We all need more tarantulas. But think that the females should at least have some coloring on them instead of all browns, blacks, and grays. It's not fair! The girls should be pretty too! Sad

Celeste

Hey, Habibi:  I split off our languages discussion so as not to intrude on this thread.  You can find our posts here:
