Peucetia viridans - Green Lynx SpiderI saw this beautiful Green Lynx spider while at my mom's house this weekend. She was hunting in the rose bushes. They are one of my all time favorite spiders.

WOW! That is an incredible spider. With all those thorns on her legs she looks like a rose bush herself. Very, very beautiful. jules

I really need to tape a ruler to my camera. I am the worst person to ask for sizes of anything as I have never have cared to know the size. I'm trying to change though. This was a rather large individual. Her legspan was a bit over 1.5 inches.

Drop me a line. I see several of these every year in the backyard and at my mom's and just about all over San Diego county. Like everyone here, I'm always looking for spiders. Supposedly only Peucetia viridans is in this area, but I have found quite a few brown specimens in San Diego county. I would really like to know the species of the brown spiders.

I think the reason I like them are because of all those spines. I agree...they are beautiful spiders.
