I just was going with the logo that was on the cards. We hand our cards out with the teddybear on it. I wasn't trying to be "girly" but rather trying to coordinate our promotional products. Just a thought.
I am open to suggestions. What do we want on the banner? I can create the art just need everyone's buy in as to what we want on it. |

Well two banners would not be a bad idea either just in case we have to do 2 events at the same time or we can not get a hold or the person taking care of it. It also depends on the PRICE and last but not least we need the official website so we can include it in the Banner/s thank you Denise and Dave for the offer. francisco |

Just for the record:
I offered a free banner way back before the Bug Show at the Natural History Museum. Regarding quality, I'm sure everyone has seen my "Crazy Dave's" banner at all of the shows I've done. I get more compliments on my banner than I do on my firm, round butt and my full pouting lips. Also, I can do 2 different layouts. One, a normal banner with brass grommets to hang behind the booth. The other is laid out as a table banner or a "skirt" that runs the length of the table, and goes from the tabletop to the floor. I use both. The printing is a very nice 600 dpi printed on a wide-format HP on special vinyl stock. I can get them from 3' X 6" up to 5' X 14'. I have found the best size is 3' X 6' for the hanging banner, and 3' X 8' for the table banner. The actual image for the table banner is 30" tall, which is the height of most tables. There is a 6" overhang that folds over the top of the table and is then taped down. The catch is that I'm digitally-graphical retarded. Someone will have to supply the file, preferably in Adobe Illustrator. The other catch... it's free. PS, Sorry, I don't like the bear idea. If that's what the consensus wants though, I'll do it under duress. Someone over time had come up with ideas using L.A. landmarks with a giant tarantula, or something to that effect. Johnny? Eddy? My brother is out of the question, he's a professional graphic artist, but tends to continually remind me of all the free stuff he did for me, like my own logo. I should have paid someone to do it instead of having it thrown in my face all of the time. |

I agree. I just did not know who created it and I did not want to step on any toes.
I have had some funky comments about the logo when I hand out the cards..... Dave, We can set up the file for you. I have an HP postermaker but no vinyl material. I was just going to send it to our vendor that makes vinyl banners for us. We do the traditional posters that are mounted to Gator or foam core in-house. I also have in-house graphic designers should we need the assistance. I don't want to ruffle feathers.  I just thought I would offer since I have the means to do it for free as well.

I can have it done in adobe and my idea was the trapdoor behind the hollywood sign. Which I have a sketch of if anyone wants to see it but I haven't gotten it on the computer since I would have to go back and darken the lines and scan it. | ||||

I have something I was dabbing with. This is nowhere near the finished product that I have in mind. The lettering still needs the "stand" that the actual hollywood sign has. This is the real hill and I still need to add the spider but I might need a picture. Of course I want to make it more like a logo than a realistic picture but I want to have a realistic picture first and then do some filtering magic. I could have more done but making the lettering was more of challange than I thought.

@ Denise- No worries, I have no problem either of us doing it. If you send it to a vendor, who's paying for it? The reason I ask is that we do those in-house, as we also do mounted posters on foamcore. |

I was going to donate it to SCABIES. I do get charged but its only $4/sq.ft. If you an do it in house, then that would probably be a better solution.

Don't give up! I think everyone who has the means, hence creativity and talent, should submit artwork or even ideas. I have absolutely ZERO talent or creativity so I love to look at other peoples work. Eddy's idea is awesome; I could have never thought of that. |

I think we ought to give everyone who can a chance to put something together so we can vote on our official banner, etc. It would also be cool to make everything available on cafe press or something. That way we could all order merchandise with different artwork. I think it would be fun. Of course, easy for me to say since I'm not doing any of the work. |

What do you think of Halfwaynowhere's logo? I think with a little bit of color, its pretty cool. We need to get something going so we have a banner and possibly new cards for the January show. I know everyone is busy but we need to vote on one and then get the ball rolling. We do not want to pressure Dave the last minute to get the banner done.

Hey Denise,
I like where the banner idea is going, but with the lack of commitment (MOSTLY DUE TO TIME RESTRAINS) that some of us seem to have, do you think it would be a good idea to set aside some time during dinner for an open brainstorming session in order to ensure we leave your this saturday with this whole banner business finally settled? This can be something that each of us can do, sit, talk and come to an agreement as to what this banner should or should not have. What kind of graphics and the size!!!!! Personally I think simple and clean is the way to go, font choice can be critical, we may not want it to be boring but it can definitely not be too overdone!
