Not me personally (they didn't offer pilot's training to women back when I was considering ROTC in the '70s), but my dad was Navy, my step-father was Army, my brother was Navy, my nephew was Army, and my ex- was Marine Corps.

Jesus and I thought I knew allot of people who served, that’s unfortunate they didn’t allow pilots training in the 70's. I'm going straight infantry

Well, good luck with the whole infantry thing!
Next you have to try running the three miles with a 50 pound pack on your back! ;-) (Wear good shoes and take care of your knees. And always have extra pairs of clean socks).
Any particular skills you're after? (Are you going to request any specialized training?) Do be careful, because I've heard of a lot of people who didn't get exactly what they had expected or hoped for in the way of assignments or training...

It wasn't that bad. It gave me a really good head start in life, money for college, travel the world, etc. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing. I don't know about the Army though... Being put in the line-of-fire isn't really my cup of tea. I'd rather be on a ship and throw rocks at the enemy than get in a fist fight.

yeah I could see the advantage there with getting that head start. The line of fire is indeed my cup of tea, I handle myself well under that type of pressure. Though I'm looking forward to the benefits after the fact so I dont to end up dead, atleast not yet!
