Some observations

Well since the Scorp section is a bit slower than the other areas I figured I'd add some observations from last nights feedings.

1: I had three successful moults. My Tityus Falconensis, one of my Centruroides Margaitatus (another looks close), and one of my Isometrus Maculatus all had very successful moults and are doing fine. The T. Falconensis grew by a fairly significant margin.

2: I think three or four more are really close to moulting. I just want all of my little ones to get big enough that I can feed them regular "small" crickets. Much easier to feed!

3: Fruit Flys. After looking for a local store that carries them, I saw a post from Eddy on one of the forums (maybe here) that says Petco carries them. Sure enough they do. These things are a PITA to feed, but my really young Chaerilus Celebensis are such puny things that a fruit fly is almost too much for them. The smaller scorps seem to go for the fruit flys more than pinhead crickets. My V. Carolinanus scorps love them.

4: My H. Paucidens hasn't eaten for a month is still growing. I at first thought it was premoult (seemed to be the consensus whe I posted pictures a coulple weeks ago), but as fat as it is getting, I am starting to think it might be gravid.

5: I. Maculatus.... These guys are a little good at hiding. Each feeding I only ever see one. A different one each time, but sometimes I just can't figure out where these guys are at. One of them has a bunch of baby crickets in its enclosure, which is strange since the only thing it has ever been fed outside of fruit flys has been a small pinhead cricket. I am leaving the baby crickets in there for now. They are small enough that the I. Mac could eat them with no problem so i figure it makes feeding time that much easier.

6: S. Mesaensis. This guy hasn't eaten for a week. Still being very alive and well (fiesty as ever), so I figure it is just fasting.

7: Lychas Infuscatus. The divider in the breeder boxes (splits it in half to create two enclosures in one) does not seperate them that well. Last feeding I couldn't find one, and I eventually found it sitting next to my other one on its side of the box (sharing a hide). I guess these guys are somewhat communal. I still keep them seperate so I can track them easier, but it was interesting.

Good luck with the gravid flatrock I dont have the patience for that one. S. mesanensis eat rarely maybe 2 to 3 times a month. Just FYI petco/petsmart fruitflies don't last very long. I got a  colony i once got from Jacob(i think ?) and it lasted me a very long time. Would of probably still had it if my bro didnt accidentily leave the top off. You might wanna find out how he made it.
