I woke up this morning and noticed some telltale white webbing in one of my spider boxes. Eggsac in the making? So I set up my camera and left for the day and when I came back I got this wonderful footage:

This is almost the whole thing! The spider adds the finishing touches to the web, deposits her eggs, covers them up then very carefully coats the whole thing in soil.

Quite a fascinating process!

It's the very reason I keep this genus of spider! Common as mud, yes, but to get to see into it's life cycle THIS closely, well, that's just amazing for me!

I had no idea they put so much work into producing an egg sac. That poor spider must be *exhausted*! (*I'm* exhausted just *watching* her!)

It's so cool how she camoflages the sac, too!

Yeah she was going for a full four hours! I'll be doing a whole lot more of this kind of thing, in the near future.

I allways wanted to see the spider picking up dirt in it's jaws and sticking it to stuff, I figured it would be cute, I was NOT dissapointed!

The spider in this video has produced her second eggsac, I've got another of the same species that has produced FOUR so far! The poor woman is on her last legs (I find that funny because it's got eight of them... my humor sucks) and she really looks like she can't make any more (or live, seriously)!
