incidentily they breathe with gills so they might need water circulation to oxygenate the water

Cool ...so, this is the adult stage? Figured it to be some sorta of nymph/ grub/larvae state of something.
EDIT: Doh! ...im such a space case ... Dobsonfly larva.
Trying to keep it n fresh water. Its sluggish, infact last night I thought it was dead and I layed it out to dry on my puter desk. In 15 min or so, it came back to life.
Might be killing this one. I HOPE its not too rare.
