Visiting soon

Hello all! I'm staying in LA for a week, between the 10th and 16th of January. I've got a few things lined up to do, but I'd like to make time to try and find some local T's. Any ideas, suggestions? I'm staying right downtown, in a area that I wouldn't mind getting away from each day! Smile
I'll have a car and so can travel around if its not too far....

A couple areas I will be going to Woodland Hills and Anaheim...
~Abyss~

Well I'm probably the closes to downtown. This is a great oppertunity for a hike i just don't know the success rate of finding T's over here.

Hi fingolfin,

I do know an area that we will get some T's but I dont know if you would want to drive down to So. Orange County? Let me know and maybe we can set something up!
Fingolfin

Cool, thanks guys.....
The Monday/Tuesday (14th/15th) are my best days for doing something. How far south in Orange County, btw? I don't know the area that well, being from Vancouver and all. Smile

Actually it will be in San Juan Capistrano about 45 miles from where you will be.

Perhaps Griffith Park could be a good location?????

Fingolfin

Sweet! Thanks all! cacoseraph I would definitely go for that, and Wayne, would you want to come? The more the merrier! Smile
Fingolfin

Anyone?  Laughing
Paradox51483

I would love to go if I had a way up there...::lol::

Hey! I'm in Woodland Hills nearly every day! Hit me up if you want to grab a beer, or something.... I've not much to offer in the way of bugging at the moment.... Maybe if you're up for a rather rugged wet mountain mission. I got a dope hike reserved for those that want to see LA from a better vantage, and it's not too long, or difficult.

Have fun out here either way =)

i want to go on the dope hike!
Ronin

That dope hike sounds pretty cool.
WBurke17

I havent gone on a good dope hike since HI-Skool
Scott C.

Sweet! I don't know if we can find much bug life, or not.... I have trouble keeping my head out of the clouds when I hike.

It's Strawberry Mountain in the Gabriels, 14 miles up the 2 out of La Canada. One of the best climbs in the front range. Extra cool when wet too. Short, sweet, and the pay off view is something else on a clear day.... Only caught a clear day once out of all the times I've been up there though. It snowed on the way down a couple weeks ago. That was pretty cool.

I'll get my stuff together, and spit out some dates if you guys are interested. Any company is always welcome =)
sick4x4

sounds like a plan...i got funds on a sac ::lol::......
Scott C.

Any of you guys got vertigo? The climb's not bad, it just looks bad at times. As long as you're not freakishly afraid of heights, and moderately nimble it's a breeze.

About dates, I realized I'm game for pretty much any time that I don't have previously planned things going on, or work.... and that consists of this weekend, the jan BBBQ, and mon-fri 8-4. So any saturday/sunday/holiday anyone wants to hit the trail hit me up.... We could do it the sunday after the BBBQ if anyone's game.

Hey all,
Just thought I'd throw it out one more time.... If you can get free tomorrow, Fing and I are going on the hike starting late morningish prolly.
Gonna establish a meeting place in the morning with him, but you can meet us at the trail head(need an adv. pass), or somewhere along the way(and ride with me).
Hit me up, I should be in the contacts.
Cheers,
Scott

blast. for sure can't make it.

fin, you out till this weekend?  oh, probably not cuz you would have probably hit up the BBQ. double blast.

well, when Scott says something funny, just pretend it was me
Scott C.

meh... can't find the contacts so 818 389 4188

and no worries Caco... We'll set a session on the mountain top up for a weekend in the near future for sure.
Ronin

Unfortunately no go for me as well.  Hope to make it in the future.  Have fun.
Fingolfin

Thought I should reply here....

Scott was a most excellent host, and a very cool guy. We went for two hikes, the first one shortened as I just wasn't prepared to do the larger hike. Anyways, got lots of cool pics and got to chat about T's lifestyles, and all sorts of stuff with him. Hopefully will get to go back soon and do it again. Didn't see any T's, but did see a stinkbug, couple lizards, a snake from far off, and a miniature squirrel!
Scott C.

Glad you had fun dude.... Maybe next time we can get some of our local bug-hunt experts to come along.

My email is ftwaaou@hotmail.com by the way. It'd be cool to see the pics.

Glad to see you're home safe and sound.

Cheers.
cacoseraph

i'm glad you guys had fun

i wish to hell i could have made it.
