Take a look at my Androctonus Australis. Fat? Gravid? Moult?

This scorpion is unsexed, and has been pretty slow to go after its food, so I am going with fat. If it gets bigger after not eating for a few feedings then maybe I'll change my mind.

Somebody here should be able to give you a good evaluation. I didn't even vote because it would be an entirely uneducated guess. It never even occurred to me that my own fat scorpion was anything other than fat until I saw the babies on "Larry's" back! Shocked

However, I'll put in my vote and say I hope she's gravid! Wink

I think this is the first time that we have had a good look. I voted fat but Sean is telling me they have short term so it could be gravid. It looks gravid in the photo.

I think we should contact Francisco and find out the possibility of it being gravid.

The separations inbetween the tergites(correct?) tells me it is coming up on a molt. Not to mention that there are no visible embryos...

I say the same as Kevin.
If you look on the back you can see the black/dark area coming thru, so it should be coming up on a molt soon.

Ok so it looks like moult is winning out. I was going with fat, but hey I would actually like a moult (it seems molt and moult are both proper spellings, so take your pick) from this one.

My B. Jacksoni looks similar so perhaps I have a pending moult there too (no pictures as my Jacksoni does not cooperate with me). I was just assuming they were fat.

So if i understand this whole thread right, Moult is winning but moult equals molt and also ecdisys witch would mean that all 3 are winning over fat and gravid but everyone knows that they should be getting fat while gravid no?? So being gravid makes you get fat but being fat doesn't make you gravid witch means that Fat would come in second position and poor little gravid would come last or third.

Moult, molt, moult, molt, moult, molt, moult, molt......... i'm just trying to pronounce both and see witch one sounds better .

Hehehe , brainfarting all over again ::lol::. None of this whole thing is supposed to make any sense hehe, i just had a little 5 minutes of free time before leaving for work haha.
