When's our next BBBQ, and who is going to host it???

Like the title says:  when's our next BBBQ, and who is going to host it???

It's about time to start planning the next one (assuming early- to mid-July sometime...)

The weekends in July are:

5th & 6th (4th of July weekend)
12th & 13th
19th & 20th
26th & 27th

But I guess we should shanghai a host first before picking a date, since the host might want a say in things...  ;-)

The weekend of the 26th - 27th is the ATS conference.

I have an appointment for a Brazilian waxing on the weekend of the 19th - 20th (the process takes 2 days), but I can reschedule it for the following month. (Don't laugh, Neshan has to get his on an in-patient basis)
NBond1986

haha....im only available the first two weekends.

after that, ill be in vermont until the first weekend of august!

depending on what's going on.....i may just have to host it, but ill let you all know.
~Abyss~

Considering I dont have a car at the moment I would love to volunteer my yard for a bbq...but we're doing some construction at the moment. I'll let you all know whats good.
vixvy

Don't consider this dates 4,5 and 6 hahaha! jetlag.
noexcuse4you

I'm definitely going to this one!  Either of the first 2 weekends in July work for me!
Celeste

Well, I don't want to post a poll until someone volunteers to host it.  But so far it looks like the second weekend (the 12th & 13th) is looking the most promising...
DavidRS

OK, let's sweeten the pot a bit. I will give $50.00 in valuable store credit to the person that hosts the July BBBQ.

The small print: This is not retroactive to past BBBQ's. You must redeem your credit at the BBBQ.
Celeste

DOES ANYONE ELSE WANT TO HOST THE JULY BBBQ???

(Don't all jump up at once, now...)

If not, I can do it (and snag that awesome store credit from David!)  But I don't want to deprive someone else of the, uh, er, "experience"...

(I definitely can't do the weekend of the 26th/27th, though).

Let's wait a couple more weeks to see if any other suckers, I mean, "volunteers" step forward.  If not, we can always use my place as a fallback.  (At least I won't have to pay for gas!)

Nesh and Eddy:  let us know if you want to host it!

Yeah, id have liked to. Id have to of course double check with people and all of course, I don't own my own house hehe.
Johnny

Have you guys ever thought about doing a BBQ at some other venue besides a house? ...I have thought about it a few times
What

I think having the BBQs at houses is a better idea just due to any extra supplies that might be needed and the fact that the person who owns the house essentially assumes liability(rather than the group as a whole) and deals with just the person that might have done the damage/whatever.

Then again, if we start having about 60+ people at each BBQ we should definitely look into it, that is a few too many people for us to expect one household to cater to for an all day event.
~Abyss~

Well after the TITTIES trip my parents are going to be in Mexico my yard just needs some cleaning up I have chuncks of concrete and a lot of dead grass now but I'm sure i can get something done by then. So i'll volunteer my house. I got a grill and a kitchen we can use.
Johnny

No hay parking wey!
ftorres

Hello Eddie,
How far are you from Salt Lake Park????

Perhaps we can park the cars there and carpool to your house???

or

Whoever is coming close to the 605 and is staying all the day at the BBBQ can park their cars out side my apartment and we can carpool there.
I can sit 4 in my truck.

francisco
Celeste

What's the situation with parking around Eddy's house?
~Abyss~

It usually not as bad as some places I should have a empty or semi empty driveway and unless theres another party that day parking usually isn't so bad. Cisco I'm a bit distant from saltlake park...walking would be about 20 minutes away.
~Abyss~

So is it decided yet? If it's my place i can start cleaning up my yard of debri and junk since it might take me a while. I have fresh lemons, grapefruit, cumquats, & oranges if anyone body wants to take a few too. Since we just converted the garage into a bedroom theres plenty of space for the bugs as well and I should still have tables and chairs too.
noexcuse4you

Are there any hikes planned?  I'd like to check out the LA area while i'm up there.
~Abyss~

No nature by my house. BUt i can give you derections to the Hollywood sign. I heard theres a few ratllers at this time but I'm not so sure about fauna.
Celeste

I think you have officially "volunteered", Eddy!  ;-)

The only other person who expressed interest was Nesh, and he has sagely kept silent these last few days...  8->

What day do you wanna do it?  Or do you wanna do a poll?  From the few people who responded above, it looked like the weekend of the 12th/13th was the best to aim for.  But it's up to you!

I'm ready for another BBBQ!!!

~Abyss~

Well i'm good for any day so a poll would be great. And a list of food items. I don't veru much feel like cooking this time but I can get desert.
-Eddy
Celeste

O.K. -- I put up a poll (but as host, you get veto power if any of those days are NOT good for you!)

You wanna start another thread for food?  Or do you want me to keep a running list at the top of this thread?

-- Celeste
~Abyss~

I'll start another thread Dont want it to get confusing

Mostly im just far too lazy / poor to drive anywhere !
Celeste

That's one benefit of hosting a BBQ yourself, eh?!  You don't have
to pay for gas!  ;-)

I've been driving 80 miles a day for 6 months, 160 miles a day at least 1 day out of every week.

Filling up runs about $75 a tank for me, and one trip to class is 1/4 tank, I go 6x a week... WEAK.

hah.
~Abyss~

so the 12th it is? Awesome.
noexcuse4you

ogershok
