My name is Rosey and I probably live the farthest away from everyone! I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and ended up on here because Neshan told me about this fine forum! Thanks Nesh!
I'm a masters student at the University of Alberta in aquatic ecotoxicology. I'm into inverts (especially freshwater ones!), anything involving being outside, and music (I have an addiction to live music, this is why I'm poor).
I'm just getting into keeping tarantulas since my boyfriend finally caved a few months ago and said I could get a "few"! I have a P. irminia sling that I've had for a few months and will be getting my first A. versicolor sling on Tuesday! I'm so excited! I'm eyeing up a G. rosea as well... Then I only have to convince my boyfriend and room mates to let me get a few more
Welcome Rosey. Edmonton huh, yahh that abit far but we have a member from Germany so your not that far.
So have yourself a look round and if you have any questions just ask.

Hahaha, Rosey -- now that you're into inverts, you'll have *another* reason to be poor!!! _________________ "Tarantulas are friends, not food" (but I bet they taste pretty good with butter and lemon!)
I hope to connect with some of you here on the boards, one individual in particular, aside from that don't expect much more than lurker status from me.

Oops. That's me. I forgot what username & email-address I registered with last time I was here. Sorry for the duplicate accounts.

Hello, my name is Paul, I live in Ontario, California. I'm a beginning hobbyist, although when I was a little kid I used to keep caterpillars...but who didn't hah..so far my collection amounts to one M. Giganteus, an Avicularia sp. "Peru Purple", two adult hissers, and some broad knecked darkling beetles, which are constantly humping each other. I'm schooling at Riverside Community College right now, and plan to transfer soon, to major in Marine Biology. So, thats pretty much it right now! Nice to meet you all. _________________ "Totally cool, original and clever quote that people will like due to its unimaginable awesomeness, and deepness."
Hey all. I've been on for a week but only now have I decided to say hi. Name is Tony but you can call me Tony. I reside in southern Cali. I'm new to the bug thing and still have a dislike for spiders (don't worry, Celeste is helping me work on that). I'm fascinated with scorpions and decided to raise 2 emperors and 1 desert hairy. They're just babies and so darn prescious.
I'm looking forward to chatting with you all and learning all I can to make my babies awesome killers. Have a wonderful night y'all.
Good to have ya here on the board ...welcome _________________

Hi there,
My name is Abby and I live in the San Fernando Valley
Not too far from all of you.
I love animals and since three months ago that I got my G rosea I am obsessed with tarantulas. Since my Shelob I then got 7 new slings and I love each and every one of them
right on Abby, G. rosea is one of my favorite species
you are not too far from some of us, indeed
you will find, i think, that tarantulas are a very different from cats, dogs, frogs, and even fish. they can show you a way of animal life that maybe you never really thought of before _________________

There may be people who like centipedes. I have seen people handling tarantulas and scorpions, but never a centipede handler. I would regard such a person with deep suspicion...Now what sort of man or woman or monster would stroke a centipede on its underbelly "And here is my big good centipede." If such a man exists, I say kill him without more ado. He is a traitor to the human race.

I am new to this site; however, I am not that new to tarantulas. I am now on my third tarantula, I had a Rose Hair(R.I.P Kratos). Currently I have a new rose hair(seeking name) approx. 3-4" and a pink toe 2". I am excited to determine if they are male or female, and would love to give breeding a shot! _________________ Fear is just another thing to be overcome.
HEllo All,
Tyshef welcome to the forum and to the SCABIES family.
if you can post some ventral pics of your Ts on the tarantulas section we can try our best to sex them, or if you have a well preserved exuvia(molt) I can try to look at them for a more acurate sexing.
If you can post good closeup ventral pictures of your tarantulas, *someone* here (most likely Francisco) will probably be able to sex them. This is a very helpful bunch of folks. _________________ "Tarantulas are friends, not food" (but I bet they taste pretty good with butter and lemon!)
I will try to post some ventral pics, or a molt asap.
most likely tomorrow. im sleeping soon. oh a light for at night, yay? neigh? what kind? _________________ Fear is just another thing to be overcome.
Welcome Tyshef..
if your asking about a light for the T's then they dont need any extra at night, especially white/ flourensent lighting. If you do wanna use light you can use a blue light as it doesnt seem to affect them in my experience. _________________ “Look down at me and you see a fool;
